The first thing I would say was to change the exhaust system on its own without doing the Cats will be disapponting so my 2c would be do Tubi and Hyperflow Cats.

I have hyper flow straight pipes and a capristo exhaust
You can feel lots of bass at idle
    Cool roar at throttle

Tubis are great too but sound too much like a tractor if you ask me

I just changed out my Tubi for a Capristo Stage 2. The Capristo has a deep bass growl at idle that will only set off car alarms in close vacinity. At about 3,000 rpm it will tickle your ears and rattle the coins in your center console. It took it about 200 miles or so to open up after installation. I still have cats in place but they are hollow.

One more thing. I passed the emission sniffer test with both the Tubi and with the Capristo with hollowed out cats for both set ups. I just sold my Tubi to a new TR owner.

Take heed of Steve f the oracle.

Go with the Cap. Leave the Tubi alone!!!

On a November run out with a bunch of other cars i.e. Astons, Porsches, Loti, Lambos TVRs on our stop for lunch there was little interest in the other cars only the exotic noise that my machine was making. Drivers of cars at the back of the pack were amazed at the sound of the pipes.

The Lotus Elise driver directly behind me was also in a state of shock as both him and his wife were affected by the sounds. His Elise was actually being buffeted by the sound waves!!! So affected in fact that he asked me if I was selling the car!!!

I drove a TR with test pipes and a Capristo level II for an hour giving rides around town at a benefit and on every rev it rapped out an F1 type of shriek at about 3000 RPM and up. It was the sound one would expect from a Ferrari 12 cylinder at the track. I was told it had a valve that opened at a certain RPM that made it do that. True or not, that will be the one for me if I ever get TR.

The nice thing about it was at lower RPM's and gentle cruizing it was very quiet and easy to talk to the passenger

I'm a Capristo fan myself, however, a Tubi AND test pipes on a TR sounds like a F1 car. I had that setup on my '87 TR. A Tubi by itself on a TR is almost useless. If you just change the exhaust then go for the Capristo.
