    Juat out for a nice run in the Winter sunshine today and I start feeling a vibration when at idle (about 1000 RPM), there is no rattling noise just a low frequency vibration that seems to be exciting the chasis at the rear. If I blip the throttle just a little, say about 100 RPM it disappears. The work I have done this Summer was new tensioner bearings and belts plus a new clutch, but I have run the car several times since doing that work. A quick look under the car gave me the impression that maybe it is the complete exhaust system ? Anyone had anything similar ?

    Does it vibrate in neutral? With the clutch in/out?

    Yes it vibrates just the same with clutch in or out.

    Have the bolt torque checked on the engine damper that is attached to the crank. That bolt is known to get loose on 328's...it is possible this might be a cause. Or not.... ;-)

    Good idea, I will check the damper, that had briefly crossed my mind but I hadn't heard that was a known problem.

    If you are down there checking the damper you may as well stick a length of flexible tube in your ear and have a listen around with the other end! great way of pin pointing noises.

    New belts and tensioners may cause the cam drive bearings to fail for example, although on mine the noise was not at idle but around 2000 rpm.

    A vibration at idle can also be caused by a broken motor mount. That's just a general observation, not Ferrari-specific, but something else to check.
