Should i change my Porsche for a Ferrari?

Your possibly asking the wrong group here. There are people that own both but in general they are Fcar owners

I reckon they are two massively different cars (though never drove or in fact been in either.. yet). Both special and unique in their own way I am sure.

Me I would take the 355, but then you knew that I guess

Maintenance of the 355 is expensive.
I owned a Ferrari but changed it for a P996. After 4 months I changed it back to a Ferrari. In the end it is a very personal thing. There are Porsche drivers and there are Ferrari drivers. You have to find out for yourself to which group you belong.

The question is more about your own preferences. The Porsche will be better in pretty much every measurable way, but the Ferrari has something extra difficult to define. Try one and see if you like it?

 

Can't comment on the F355 but currently own a 911 Turbo and 348ts and enjoy them both for what they are. Previously owned a P-993 and Ferrari 328GTS. They are very different cars and offer different driving experiences. I do a lot of my own maintenance and find Ferrari-specific parts generally harder to source than those for my Turbo. I've not found either one a real headache to keep running although I find the Porsche better built and slightly more comfortable on longer drives. The 348ts is a go-kart for sunny days when I just want to relax, rev it up and hear the Tubi sing. It gives an intangible, visceral experience that the Porsche lacks. That said, I love my Turbo. Both are great cars, so you won't go wrong either way.

i have a 997 and a 360 and if you you arelucky enough to have both they compliment each other perfectly however if i was pushed to say which is best i honestly couldnt say, i guess if i had to choose and had to use the car every day id go for the 997

however there is something about a ferrari any ferrari that stands it apart its the sound the looks and the performance

 

I just traded my 997 for a used 360 and have to say that they are two very different cars to drive. I've never driven an F355 although I used to lust after them so can't comment on that model. The 360 is a much more raw driving experience compared to the 997 which is a thoroughly modern car with impeccable handling abilities. The 360 demands more respect but gives more pleasure in return. I'd agree with Timmmmo though in the fact that the 997 will be a much better proposition for everyday driving. The F355 will be a lot more expensive to maintain than your 997 as well, a point worth bearing in mind. The other factor to consider is that Ferrari's really are low volume handbuilt cars and the quality can be found wanting in some areas. My 360 has a digital clock that is the same type fitted to an Alfa Romeo I owned 15 years ago for example. These things pale into insignificance when you get a chance to really drive the car but may come as a bit of a shock after the good build quality of the 997. Try and get as much test driving time as possible before commiting yourself would be my advice.

I changed from a 996 c2 cab tip to a 355 spyder and recently a 360 modena. One word of warning. Ferraris are addictive! If you want a nice car try www.nickcartwrightcars.com he has some good clean cars.

if your going to go 355, go with the Fiorano edition if you can get your hands on one...

 

I am going through the same process as you are, I am on my 8th Porsche and now driving 996 cab. 04 model, a truly wonderful car, according to my wife I am going through my midlife crises! now that I found an excellent 360 spider that I am about to buy... without even testing a Ferrari before! I hope I will not regert it.. I will try to test one or two before I put the deposit next week... I will keep you posted and pls. do the same as this may end up to be the most unwise investment one can make!

 

Both 997 and 360 are nice cars but they can't be compared. 997 is more a daily driver and more reliable. 360 is just sheer gorgeous, aggressive performance still easy to drive but not a daily driver.
If I had to choose one then I have to go for 360 as I can get a daily driver on my sedan!
