f50 runs faster than 11.6 so it would win but if the race was on the highway i would expect it to be worse as the f50 trap speeds i would think to be a bit higher.

All in all you can dump enough money into any junk to make it beat anything. but at the end of the day you have a vin diesel 350z in your garage and the other guy goes home in a F50...

The 350z has an ugly ass, not that this has anything to do with the discussion at hand.

Well, it may be able to beat an F50 a straight line...but then again, if i modified some little hot hatch that much, I have no doubt it will win in a straight line.

Try beating him through the twistys though, much different story there :)

at te end of the day, which would you rather take home? adriana lima or a fat ugly chick with FF knockers?

Come on, doesn't the Z guy deserve some respect? Sure, a Z is no Ferrari and if you read that thread you get the clear impression that the Z driver is very aware of that.

He doesn't deserve all of this disrespect. Okay, I know nobody has exactly bashed the driver yet, but all the bashing of the guy's car definitely implies disrespect towards him.

"In the end, enthusiast A goes home in an F50, enthusiast B in a Nissan, enthusiast A>enthusiast B, blah blah blah." In the end, I say, they are both enthusiasts, and I don't understand why we have to talk trash about one another.

I agree with what you say.

But one must also consider that a post like this in a Ferrari forum is antagonistic to say the least. Furthermore, the members of said forum will defend their car(s) against such a statement, as they should.

This happens all over the net and on every forum. Someone posts on the Corvette forums that a Stage 12 SRT4 whupped a C6. Someone will post on a Viper forum that a T76 Turbo with a 150 shot tubbed and stripped out Civc beat a GTS . . . yada, yada.

Posts like this are usually done to irritate the members of that particular forum. I find it amusing but I do look at the enthusiasts in the comparison and give each their due.

    Sure why not.

There is a company that has produced 977whp out of an M3. Would a take a stock F355 over it? In a second.

Make that 2 of us mate! Where i live, there are 10 rice burners that would smoke my 348,say over the 1/4,but they do not get the looks, adulation and admiration that i do driving the Ferrari around, and they never will. :)

agreed completely. I would take my 220 whp M3 over the 977whp M3. Where the hell are you going to use 977 hp??? Even on street tyres my car has plenty of power to put down real good times at local tracks. Besides, the thing still looks like an M3, and a 355 will still look/be a Ferrari!

As for the race, it doesn't sound like the Z driver was antagonizing the F50 driver, they just seemed to be talking and then wanted to show off what the nice machines could do, and wow, that Z is pretty messed up. Too bad it still has that "broken V8" sound that i can't stand... >_< but I do love the way those cars look!

The Nissan Z is a excellent car. Great car for the money. I don't think you guys should be putting down this Z driver's car because he didn't say anything insulting back to the Ferrari driver. Just two enthusiasts.

As for comparing the two cars, of course we look at the thread title and immediately know this is going to be silly, comparing a mid 30k Nissan to a 500k and up supercar.

350Z is a great car for the money, but

the problem is a F50 will always be a F50, 20 years later, it is a vintage classic which celebrated 50 years of Ferrari changing the face of the world, and it is a product reflecting Ferrari's F1 involvment.

the 350Z will be a 350Z, only 20 years later it will be a learning go cart for 15 year olds who about to go for their drivers lisence, or on a container ship to china for 3rd grade steel recycling.

a quarter of a mile distance, I can modify my grand ma's Datsun to beat the F50 stock.........

...........try beating top speed stock F50. The F50 wasn't designed for quarter mile drag or short quick acceleration, that would be too easy. The F50 is a grand touring high speed car at 220 mph... The 350Z can do 165 mph or mod to 180 or 190and you will experience rattling of the whole car.... or in other word, death is coming.
