I am looking at a car that has a small door ding. What would I have to do to make it near perfect? Thanks James

Not sure where you live, but call around to some Ferrari/Bentley etc.. dealership(s) in your area & ask who they use for paintless dent repair.
I had some door dings taken out of my 308...& when my 328 was shipped the shipper dented both the passenger & drivers side areas on the roofline behind the passenger compartment. I was amazed at the ability to remove the dents...simply ask around, get the best one you feel comfortable with.

Most door dings where the paint is not broken can be fixed so perfect that even the best eye will never see it. There are normally 2 large exceptions :

    1. Dings near corners can sometimes be ipossible to get at with dent removal tools thereby not making them removable without painting.

    2. Sometimes a ding occurs on a panel that has an internal re-inforcement making it impossible for dent removal tools to access the dent. An example of this would be a door with a ding right in the middle but right over where a re-enforcing beam passes. The only way to be sure is to have a dent guy look at it.

Dent Wizard. Amazing what these guys can do. As long as the paint is not broken, they can make it look like new. And if the paint is chipped, you can still have them remove the ding and then touch it up yourself and have a near impossible to detect repair, if you're careful with the paint.

I went to my nearby Mercedes dealership (funny I have a Ferrari dealership the same distance but didn't bother there...) and found out who they used for paintless dent removal and leather/vinyl repair. I figure they have high enough standards and volume to find good people.
