    My buddy is trying to remove the alternator from a 355 he just got. Is there a special tool needed to remove it

    I removed my alternater to replace the alternater belt.......there are no special tools required.
    You loosen up the belt tensioner (take note of the belt tension so you can re-tension later) , remove 2 bolts on the alternater (disconnect the wires on the alternater) and down she drops.

    ***BUT*** be sure to have disconnect the battery before you start the job. Just don't ask how I know this is important....
