    All in all, YES.

It started bad with a job layoff in Feb.

Out of that I learned that I have marketable skills and can find a good paying work when I want.

I spent all summer on practice hiking trips with my son's Webelos den.
We finished with 3 days of backpacking in the Sierras.

Got my Sunbeam Tiger back on the road in time to drive the tires off it on the way to Historic weekend in Monterey.

A 40 yo British car and a new MINI showed the Porshe club how to drive Hwy 1 thru Big Sur. :D

Eh nothing special for me in 05 except the Rampage. Got to have a great dinner with a ton of FChatters. Got to meet/hang with Art, Rob, BobaFett, Vincent, Tillman, RedHead, and Ryalex. That was the highpoint of my year :) I'm not expecting much in 06 though. I finish my MBA in may then I have to go into the 'real world'. I'm expecting good things for 07 though!

Good thread. Life is a sobering experience. It is easy to be graceful when everything goes your way (and even then, some people seem to have a hard time accepting that~ they either think they are entitled, or are worried that it will come to a crashing halt); the harder part is to show grace, understanding and humor when all odds are against you.
This is a strangely wonderful place, F-Chat. It is a welcome respite for me, from the ups and downs of life and can be 'therapeutic' without saying a word about personal issues; it's like any hobby or other interest, the pursuit of which takes you to a different place, if only for a little while. I feel an enormous bond to this place, and many of the people who populate it, even though I have not met alot of you in person.

Heck yeah........ I have a fun job that pays enough for me to pursue my interests. No Ferrari just yet but I do have a fun fast red toy that has been headache free lately. I'm not overly fond of my location but it's only temporary so I really can't complain too much.

Every year is a good year. The year anniversary of the day my wife walked out came and went, and now I am with a wonderful woman. Everyone close to me is healthy and that is by far number 1. As icing on the cake, I have everything I could want including beautiful children and a great job.
Like the songs says, "I can't complain, but sometimes I still do." "Life's been good to me so far"

Learned alot about myself this year, made a couple of career-related changes this year.

But I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Or if I want to. :)

    As do I.

I will give Fchat credit, it greatly helped me deal with the fact that I am 8000 miles away from home and only know a handful of people in China.

I had a pretty good year. First year at Notre Dame! Grades not so good but I've learned a lot and I know I can do better next semester. Made tons of new friends, got my first Ferrari models, got an F50 poster, parents got a new car and a new house this year which are really nice, got my own computer, saw my first Bentley and Aston Martin, finally visited my relatives in Korea, and so much more. Those are mainly things in the last half, I can't even remember what happened at the beginning of the year. And next year I'll be off to a good start with a free trip to the Detroit Auto Show.

I realize that my puny problems are nothing compared to those who suffered the loss of a loved one or the agony of a sick child. My business tanked, although I have reason to be hopeful for a turnaround. One of my kids will need some special ed help, but it's nothing serious. My wife and I are working things out - nothing near a "brush with divorce."

My sincere best wishes for one and all for a better 2006.

PS: One really fine thing about 2005 for me was learning about F-chat and educating myself about Ferraris. I may actually be an owner before too long, but even if I'm not I have encountered an amazingly knowledgeable and generous group of people. If there is any justice in this world, all of you will have the fulfilling lives you deserve. Thanks for everything.

PPS: The very first post I read on F-chat was about how Brian Vignale went to an owner's house to help him change the oil in his 308. I showed my wife the post and I believe that was what converted her from thinking I was truly insane to want a Ferarri.

fine words. all i can add is that i need to work smarter in 2006. aim higher. finish one of my 3 Associates Degrees into a Bachelors of Something. need to shoot for my Inspection Authorization from the FAA since i have everything else .

perhaps its time to change jobs. going on 8 years. i want a 12 cylinder car, while i still can.

need to meet a real woman. 34 is too long to be alone. all of my friends are married, with kids or on the way.

some of you have had to deal with things that i had never considered. family , sick children. G_d bless all of you and all of us. perhaps "we" can find new ways to help each other, not just as "ferrari / car guys" but as "ONE".

best wishes for 2006, to all of us.
