I plan to be in Italy this summer and was wondering about the tour that the factory has to offer to non F car owners.

I am not 100% positive and others may have better insight, but I don't think this is possible, unless you have a very good non-owner relationship with a dealer already.

You'll have to arrange it with a Ferrari dealer.
    Otherwise you'll never get in.

The Galleria Ferrari in Maranello is always worth a visit. The exhibits change regularly. Their web site generally has updated info.

Also worth a visit is Maranello Rosso. This private museum is Located in the Republic of San Marino a couple of hours east of Maranello. Actually they have two museums - one for Ferrari and one for Abarth. They also have a web site. An added benefit is the fact that San Marino has an interesting history and is also something of a tax haven making it a good place for shopping.

    Enjoy your journey.

    Ciao,

    John

You definitely have to arrange it through your Ferrari dealer. You will receive a reservation application that is filled out by the dealer and submitted to Ferrari. It has several choices of trip time and they will attempt to accomodate your request. ONce a reservation time is set, you cannot miss it. You have to be there on the exact day at the exact time they say. If you are 5 minutes late you are left outside.

I have only seen a couple of non-Ferrari owners get a reservation and this required a special request by the dealer. Usually someone who had a deposit on a future build or someone looking to purchase a specific "special" car that could be verified as a benefit to the dealer and Ferrari to be let in.

Give it a shot, all they can say is no. You can still get up on the hill overlooking the track and hope the team is testing that day. Stand outside the front gate with your camera. They take different Ferraris out all the time to test drive on the streets around there. Photos of the Enzo started appearing on the internet a couple of years before the car actually appeared and most were taken with the factory in the background.

Yes, I was with Ferrari for three years so I have a little inside knowledge...

And don't be misled by my profile on this. Somehow when I open and log on, I am getting in on my sons logon. I have deleted cookies and reentered under my own signon but when I shut the computer down and come back on, it comes on as my son..........Audiguy is my real logon........grrrrrr

It doesn't have anything to do with firefox.

The search results expire after a while. That's the 'searchid' at the end of the url. The only way to avoid that is to provide links directly to the threads the search brought up.

You have to furnish your VIN #

When we did the freebie owner tour, we specified Thursday prior to San Marino GP - confirmed but, the date was changed on GP and so was our factory date - absolutely no problem.

John mentioned in an earlier post Maranello Rosso in San Marino - it's all about history - you can spend hours in the loft area reading about Ferrari history, going thru jmagazines, etc. and read journal entries Enzo made regarding Dino and his letter to Mrs. Ascari (indeed, very moving - shows a very caring person despite his no-nonsense way of business). They have very significant cars that you won't find anywhere else.

We have a very soft spot for Italy going back to my birthday present in 1980 of a week in Rome. Enjoy!!!

    Carol
