    Anyone play around with Google Earth?

    Any interesting places to look at? I keep thinking of places - what are yours?

    Area 51 in Nevada (obvious)

    Devils Tower in Utah (the large mountain thingie from Close Encounters)

    Various air force bases (one in Tuscon you can see hundreds of abandoned planes)

    Hoover Dam

    New York City & Statue of Liberty

    Your house, friends homes, places you used to live and work, etc



    What else is good to look at? There must be hundreds or thousands of interesting views!

    it would be cool to find someone with a huge estate or something and look at that :). Race track too

    You can spy on Ferrari and Lamborghini too!!

    hahah, the pics must have been taken in the summer cause of all the boats on the lake, you can see the wakes too!

    If they ever perfect live viewing... there's a house on the 10000 block of Charing Cross Rd. in Beverly Hills that's worth a view. The guy that lives there hosts some yard parties that would put the Bikini Thread to shame :D

    Mount Saint Helens in southern Washington is pretty cool to look at...... I subscribed to Google Earth Plus ($20 a year) so I get a few added features, the most important being able to upload info from my GPS. For the last few months I have started taking my GPS with me everywhere except the most routine trips to keep a log of where I have been. It has helped me find some interesting new places I might have otherwise overlooked. The second pic shows some of my driving around in the last couple of days.

    Wow.. I actually recognized some of the boats in the harbor. This pic was taken sometime in June-July (judging from the remodel on her building).

    You can go to Ferrari's HQ in Maranello and see Fiorano, the wind tunnel and even the F1 car transporters!

    I first tried google Earth today and find that a lot of the images are rather blurred, any ideas why?

    Steve- Alot of the areas of earth arent fully processed yet. If you live in the country, or away from a highly populated place, the resolution wont be as clear. Go to London or some big city like that and the resolution will be much better.
