I honestly don't know exactly what they are trying to do. I caught a bit of it on the Science channel (dork mode in full effect) where they were showing a scaled down demonstration of what was going on, how they were suspending the plasma with this massive magnet and what not. Been trying to find more info on the whole thing but there isn't much out there yet. From the way they explained it, the extreme heat led right into the basic E=MC^2. Something to do with spliting or bonding different atoms, and the change in mass results in a huge release of energy (duh)

I honestly don't know enough about it to explain it much better, but it was rather interesting. Between that and this anti-matter talk there is some cool chit in the future.

Can't argue with that... haha. If MIT is really making some more progress, I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more about it over the next couple years. hehe.

Anyone ever wonder what would have happened if the planes had hit low, and into the corners of the buildings? Would it have collapsed sideways, and quicker, resulting in more deaths?

dunno. i saw it all happen live and was amazed at either how how well the attack was choreographed or how poorly the buildings dealt with it... not that they were designed for such an atrocity, but that within 20 minutes something so huge fell like a house of cards... ouch.
