    Hello all,
I'm currently in the middle of trying to install Durable 1's Krank Vents on my 1977 308 GTB. I've got the crossover tube off, but I can't get a good grip on the OEM valves to remove. I've tried slip pliers and vise grips, both with a shop towel wrapped around the vent, but it ain't budging! I also tried a rubber sheet, not working...

Anybody know how to remove these things?

Also, as I look down the vent, it seems to be just a simple barrell leading down into the valve chamber. I know the Krank Vents are one-way only.
Are the OEM vents also one-way valves?

    Thanks,
    Greg

They are threaded in (on my 83 qv) and almost impossible to remove.

I tried the Krank Vent and ended up tossing them in the trash. Just went to Breather Canister from Pegasus Racing.

Good luck and try some heat on them.

    Sloan,
You didn't like the Krank Vents? Or you just couldn't get the OEM vents off?

I got them installed (had a machine shop work the old threaded tubes out). The Krank Vents seemed to not be able to vent at rate that was needed. I just think they are a gaget that was built for Harleys and does not meet the requirements of a high reving V-8. I did not pay for them so tossing them was not a big deal.

Just my opinion based on using them.

I must say they are nice looking.

PS. The old tubes threaded into valve cover are just tubes nothing more.
