You're almost starting to catch on, but I'm going to leave it at that because this is really starting to become sad.
I just sold my 2006 S65 AMG with the Kleemann ECU upgrade. I have to tell you, it was a terrific car. Tons of power stock, even more with the Kleemann set up. The power is very usable throughout the entire band. Once you drive one, its truley wild, having a big 4 door sedan that keeps right up with the big boys. I wanted the car for biz travel and to haul the family around......why not have 700HP as well! Anyway, it was a great car.....and will probably get one of the new ones next year to try out again. The AMG Lineup is a giant step outside of the normal Mercedes line-up. ......sold the car to make way for something totally opposite..........2006 Viper Coupe with Paxton SC. Good for 725 Dynoed Ponies ! (flywheel) SM
That S65 looks rather "small" compared to the current model (or previous I should say). However, that car is close to $200k isn't it? That's kinda crazy.. although I'd choose an SL65 cuz the convertible factor is PIMP!
Is it just me or, do owners of these cars not want funky designs, and electronic everything? My favourite big car over the past 20years was an early 90's Bentley Turbo R. None of the electrotrickery of my S600 and MORE reliable. Imagine that, a British car being more reliable than a current German super saloon.
The gimmicks only add profit margin to the cars, that is the whole point of adding them. And yes, I'm in the target demographic, I would prefer simple to all of the electronic items. Actually, the 1989 Turbo R was even better, the electronic suspension was added to the 1990 and later versions.
