This is a great thread so forgive me for a minor hijack, anyone have a 7 band pioneer manual for a BBi as well as the radio manual? Thanks, back to the original thread. P.
I have an original , brand new , complete BBi equalizer with all the original paper work \ manuals and the Pioneer box. Trade straight across for your lousy , crap , Radio you will never use and worth only a few bucks on the grey market
Thanks for such a generous offer guys......let me think about it.....after I stop laughing. My radio as well as the EQ are quite happy where they are and in working order. I also have the correct 5 band and stereo paper work. I need a 7 band manual and stereo manual for a friend of mine. Im such a nice guy, I thought I would ask you nice guys for assistance as Im sure someone will come forth to help. You know, I was looking at an 84 BBi last week that is sitting unloved and it has the radio and EQ in it, its a shame but I bet the owner would notice if it was missing or else I would offer it up. P.
Ha-ha, the Bbi guys are always talking and concerned about those radios, most ended up in the trash can where they probably belong by the 19 year old installers at Stereo City in the 80s when they upgraded them to Alpines Enzo knew better than to put them in the carb cars, he knew he'd probably have a product liability suit from the owners going deaf from cranking them full blast so they could hear them over the loud engine.
Why dont we post pics here as well? It would be nice to see them I think. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Really great thread, and a surprising number of Boxer owners here too. I think Newmans right in that a few pics would be nice, so a couple of mine, with a ratty transient looking guy in one of them! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here I am this past Sunday on the 27th New Year's Day Lentil Soup Run with my Dad as co-pilot. This was right before we got lost in the Santa Monica mountains with Jay Leno and then ran the car in more rain than I'm sure this car has ever seen in its lifetime. I kept waiting for that 1983 windshield wiper to disintegrate but I was surprised how well it worked and how well the Michelins worked on the slick roads in the hills. I got some mud to clean off this weekend! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi guys, Heres a pic of mine, oh, and I'm in Oklahoma if you hadn't guessed. I've also just about fineshed doing the garage, would be happy to post some pics if anyone is interested. Robert Image Unavailable, Please Login

And here is mine. A barn find 365BB (#18265) currently completely apart for a total resto. I was wondering if anyone could help me with some photochops? My car was originally Blu Dino (bright mettalic blue, like the later blu chiaro) with NO boxer trim, and I am trying to decide if it should stay original or get painted another "period" color - top three alternates are azzuro dino (non mettalic pastel blue, like "gulf blue" on a gt40), giallo dino (pastel, non mettalic primrose yellow) and verde medio (light mettalic silver green). Could anyone photoshop one of these awesome pics into these colors to help me decide? It will not have boxer trim regardless. Anyone have any opinion on the best choice? Let me know, Thanks, Alex Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a 308GTB in Dino Blue (azzuro metallica)........it's a very unusual color and really compliments the contours of the shape, IMO. The factory gave me the code number, if you want it.. The advantage would be having the current finishes match your Heritage Certificate. A plus, IMO...value wise and also originality. But after seeing your pics, I say you can paint it any color you like, as reward for saving this car!
Their was a BBi that was a dark metallic green that was stunning which would be my choice for any color, I think it was on Bernardi website. Orange looks very cool as was the $155k 365sold at auction a year ago.
Tex: I have the gliden salchi eurolac color chip book for this era, so I access to the paint codes and samples - but thanks for the offer. With regards to your GTB is is Blu Dino Mettalic or Azzurro Mettalic (these are two different colors). With respect to originality, even at the FCA national, there is no deduction for non-original colors, as long as they are "in range" for the year. I would like to keep it original, actually, but it originally had bright blue wilton carpets (replaced with black nylon in the mid 80s - I found scraps of the original stuck to the fire wall) to match the paint, but these carptes are NLA, so I thought I might look at period paint colors that had matching carpets available, and that is what started me down this path, as light blue and light green carpet IS available. Any favorites on my list or off? Any photoshop skills to help me picture them (I have none)? Any help is greatly appreciated, Alex
