NNO, you are wrong about people's vs peoples'...for the most part, people's is correct. If you are talking about several separate groups of people, then peoples' should be used. Whether or not to follow the apostrophe with an "s" depends on the context of the sentence: The emperor seemed deaf to the peoples' criticisms. (There are many people with many different criticisms.) He was hired to divine the people's mood and predict their acceptance of untried products. (This refers to the collective mood of the people.)
I'm glad I'm not the one who started this thread. But now that it's been started... There's a poster in the SoCal section who's famous for using "to" when he meant "too" and vice-versa. Pisses me off...
The 3rd grade mistakes piss me off... but not as much as this stuff: "wut u doin 2day dood" "nutn u" "nutn maB goin 2 teh mallz" As soon as I see a message like this from someone on a message board, AIM, or any other place, I assume they're mentally challenged and avoid talking to or reading messages from them as much as possible from that point forward.

I see that constantly... but it seems to be pretty accepted on car forums along with "I locked up my breaks", "Do you want to go their with me?", etc... Most of them use the "Who cares, it's only a message board... I don't type like this when sending e-mail for work" excuse.
