I just wrecked my custom supercharged Viper I built myself and I feel very sick, but life goes on....I have always liked the Testarossa's but heard they have many issues. I think the 512TR are the way to go.

Can someone give me some insight on the difference of these cars? What to look for. Are these cars easy to work on for someone who knows about cars? Or is it a maintence and money hog?

    Thanks!

    Adam

Where did that happen? Glad you are OK. Guess I won't be able to get a ride in it now. I sold my Ferrari and picked up a modified Porsche 930. It's funny that you are interested in a 512 TR. My parents were visiting over Thanksgiving and my father purchased a 512TR that I found for him. I won't get to try it until I get to Florida over Easter.

Hey Doug...good to hear from ya. It happened last night on the gene Synder before the ramp on 64. I got cut off and that is when I got into a tail spin. Lucky to be alive. The car took off that cut me off. I had a passenger with me and he's okay too.

I just need to fight it out with my insurance company. I have over $35K just in the engine a lone. I just moved to my new home in oldham county...so I will have plenty of space to store the car when I get it on Monday.

Keep your eyes peeled on a 512TR. It okay if it has well taken care of miles.

Go with the 512 TR. Best of the bunch for the money. It runs the Motronic FI instead of the older CIS. Easy to turbo or maybe supercharge if 425 HP isn't enough. Norwoods did a twin turbo for a number of these.

Glad you are okay. Easy to get hurt these days.

Was it someone screwing around with you because you were in a Viper or was it someone that was changing lans and you were in the blind spot?

Where did you do that? Anyone see?

I am suprised you aren't trying to get that supercharger off the guy's viper in this thread.

I don't think it was intentional...I think he or she wasn't paying attention when they cut over and may have been in the blind spot. My car as you know sits low.

Sorry to hear about your viper. I just got mine yesterday. Careful, careful careful.

Neway, I don't think you need to spend the extra $$$ on a 512 for a few extra ponies and an updated injection sys. I have found the TR to be easy (relatively) to work on, very reliable and all around great car. Would take a TR and $20-30K in my pocket anyday. My F-tech steered me in this direction before I bought, and I am not sorry. JMHO

I will be going the TR route as well but ideally would still prefer the 512TR.

    Adam,
Sorry to hear about your misfortune and glad that both you and your passenger are fine. One question though, why not try a 930 or a 964 Turbo for a change.

I heard some of my guys talking about it at work today. Glad to hear you are OK. I thought one of them said he had a buddy who saw the crash. I'll see if he is a potential witness for you.

Thanks...but insurances says it doesn't matter....since no other cars were involved.
