So this is infact not the car, only a fairly accurate depiction of what it may look like ? Or is this actually the car ?

At 'automobile' (www.automobilemag.com) they state that the pics are official and have the pics up on the main page. I truly hope that when I am of the means there are still 550/575's available in good working order. Perhaps it will grow on me, but overall it just looks too busy. Who knows though, a black or Tour de France blue car may win me back.

I agree. Have also seen video of car on Nurburgring with none of the additional bonnet/side vents open. Track time is the point these would be needed the most so final design may be simpler and thus closer to yours (and mine) taste.

I was wrong, oh well, it will probably grow on me, but the 575M is still one of my favorite Ferrari's.

Thanks for the press release Marcel.

Wow! With a weight to power rato of 2.6 hp/kg, and with 620 hp on tap = 1612 kg for the 559 GTB!

This is 118 kg less than the 575M, and 228 kg less than the 612.... this car is going to be as fast (if not FASTER) than the SLR :D

well, i guess those photo turned out to be official photos indeed, despite many people refusing to believe so, wonder where did they orginally came from anyways, leaks?
well, i do hope this car really weight 1612 kerb weight, if true then that's really light weight for a big v12 GT. although i think it's probably dry weight, as most italian manufactures tend to quote dry weight.
anyways, about the car, i still think the detailings a bit fussy and the side views shows a rear end slightly fat, but overall speaking i think it is a better design than the gawky 612. performance should b absolutely astonishing though, 1612kg, 620hp, this is similar power/weight to a SLR!! not to mention this will be about half the price of a SLR!! can't wait to see some acceleration figures

Maybe I was not clear about that; yes, it's the same images, made to show you the new car in different colors. It was not my itent to pretend otherwise.

However, we never use photoshop for Barchetta; way too much work to do a trick like this; we use StudioLine Photo for that.

(link updated now the official name was confirmed this morning)

This is probably the best looking new ferrari in 10 years. It will look tremendous in the flesh... and have you seen how fast this thing is on the track??!! A worthy successor to the 550/575 - and one for my future garage. Even sounds good.

I agree, the initial shock is over and I'm loving it. That rear window detail is soooo cooooool. It will be great to finially have an aluminum chassis v12, I think the quoted weight loss from the 575 might be accurate.

Exactly - the beauty is in the whole, but also in the details - and that rear window detail will look fantastic in the flesh. Very innovative.

It has a bunch of strange yet fantastic styling ideas, but it manages to pull them all together in a way the Enzo never could.

    This design just works.

More HP than CGT and SLR for lot less sticker. This one's sure to be a big winner even though the design makes you stop and think.

It will be interestng to see how it effects resale on other exotic's.

I'm over the shock too now, and I love the front. As for the back...I'll hold my judgement until I see more pictures.

I loved it when I first saw it and I love it more now. Like someone else said, it will have more hp than a cgt and SLR for less money. I bet it will be a screamer. Does anyone know how much the car will weigh in pounds?
