Have any of you gone here before? I don't know exactly what day(s) I plan to go yet, nor who with, so I'm wondering if I can fill out the form from the owners site for multiple trips, are they strict on the correct day and guest name, etc? And then, once I'm into the Ferrari stand... what's special? Do I get to sit in the cars? Are there refreshments or something? Or do I just get some salesguy that's going to be straining to be polite to me when I tell him I have a 308 and no thoughts of upgrading to a new model?

The only way I know to get into booth is talk to either owner of Cauley Ferrari or one of salesman before show, and tell them what time and day your coming. People who run booth will not let you in due to so many people wishing to do so.
Have you ever done business with Cauley ferrari that would help.

All you have to do is download the form from the owner's site and fill in what day you are coming and your guest's name. You then just print the form and present it at the show.

I'll be there as well. I signed up to go to the booth on the 14th, but my friend and I are going to the autoshow the 14th and 15th. We were also going to go to Canada Saturday night. Any suggestions for a bar or club to check out while there (we're both 21).

I may be going on one of the industry previews days although it's more pricy this year still ($75, up from $60 last year). I have to go then or never as I go back to school the Friday of that week. It is nice to go then as many of the places are open to people coming in and seeing the cars up close. Also, it is a lot less crowded then so you can see the whole show in one visit. If you go during the regular event, if you want to see everything you should go at least twice.

I would still talk with Cauley before the show, that's how we got in last year, as the "gatekeepers" are pretty strict about who gets in.

The only cool thing was getting to sit in some of the cars, and see them up close. Nothing else extraordinary. Except when my friend sat in the 430, and grabbed the steering wheel too hard....blasted the horn for all to hear :)

Below is from the Ferrari Owner's site...

I'm not sure what day I'm going, but I'm definately filling out one of those forms!!!! :)

    1/14/2006 - 1/22/2006

    Detroit
The 2006 Detroit Auto Show will take place between the 14th and the 22nd of January, and this year Ferrari will feature with no less than three firsts for the North American market.

On display will be one of the 29 FXXs, Ferrari’s extreme interpretation of the Enzo supercar destined exclusively for track use. This prèmiere will be joined by the first showing of the two-tone 612 Scaglietti, an example of the special orders that can be undertaken by Ferrari, and the F430 Challenge destined for the US series of the Challenge races. Alongside these special models will be the production F430 Spider and 612 Scaglietti.

Any Ferrari clients who wish to avail of exclusive access to the Ferrari stand on the Luxury Row between January 14th and 22nd can simply register using the link at the foot of this page. On completion of the form, you will receive a personal invitation (PDF format) which covers access for yourself and a guest. Please print the invitation and present it to the hostesses at the entrance to the stand together with a form of identification (passport, driving license or similar).

The Detroit Auto Show takes place at the Cobo Conference/Exhibition Center, One Washington Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48226, and opens from 9 am to 10 pm every day from Saturday 14th January to Saturday 21st. Sunday the 22nd’s opening times are reduced from 9 am until 7 pm. For further information on the event or to book your ticket to the Detroit Show (not included in exclusive access to Ferrari stand) directly on-line, log on to the Show’s official website at: www.naias.com. Ticket prices are $12 for adults.

Information on available hotel accommodation is available from the www.visitdetroit.com web site. The official North American International Auto Show site (www.naias.com) also includes driving directions and taxi service information, among other useful tips.

No offense but looks like I picked a bad year to see the F-cars! I don't like any of the new designs (except SA), 612, 430, or Enzo/FXX.
I would have loved to see the Superamerica or 575 or 360.

why doesnt Ferrari or Lamborghini ever come to the Indy show?

On the evening news they said it was the 2nd largest car show in the US, this I doubt it true enless they're using some slick way of counting like in cars per sq ft or something. But still, why not Indy?? Is it cause they have no dealers here?

Journalists have a way with words. If they said Indianapolis is the 2nd largest show in the US, wonder how they rate three US shows that received international certification - Chicago, LA and New York?

Read this am that NBC Sports will air a broadcast of the International Auto Show from Detroit on 22 January from 1-3 est.

Just thought I'd throw my two cents in as I just determined I'd be able to make it up this year. Ive come up from Kansas City ever year since 2000 save one year, and I can't wait. I was unsure I'd be coming until I saw the FXX on display. Can't pass up that opportunity. In my experience, they've always been very strict about letting people onto the display, but I have been lucky the last few years to have stricken up a friendship with one of the ladies who works the show. She has for the last few years allowed me to get onto the display (during less-busy hours, of course) to take pictures at will and such. Will be very excited to know if she is working ferrari again this year, as I would love a shot at the FXX close-up. I will of course share all the pics if i get the chance, and I can't wait to get there!
