    "You are the perfectionist procrastinator.
Perfectionists fear failure or not doing a good enough job. They suffer from too high standards. Lest it be less than perfect, perfectionists have trouble starting or finishing a project. However, if the procrastinator does not get an "A," the fact that he or she did not give him or herself enough time to properly do the project excuses the procrastinator from not having done a perfect job. "If I had started earlier..." is a common lament from the perfectionist trying to excuse him or herself"

    hahah so true

I used to do all my assignments the morning they were do in the hall before class. No joke.

Comes in handy in business actually. Well the ability to improvise and produce results when time has already literally run OUT. The lack of planning probally isn't great :)

Gotta hybridize for true success. Plan the things that matter, don't over-analyze, keep moving forward, and IMPROVISE AS A MATTER OF DAILY COURSE.

    Apparently I'm a Defier/rebel

Your procrastination type is the defier, also known as the rebel. Defiers like to break the rules and rebel against chores and other assignments given to them. They take offense when given tasks by other people and are insulted by suggestions to change their habits. Rebelling is a normal thing that teens do to test how much power they have over their lives, but it can go past the common testing of rules and limits when some people "get stuck in the mode of rebelling."
As I'm now 38 I guess I'm more than stuck. I think I should probably start making a list.

    Ok. I'll do that tomorrow.

Had a CHM exam for uni past Monday. I started studying for it at around 4am (exam was at 8am). Since I had to leave th ehouse by 7am, that meant stopping review by 6.30am. Yea, sometimes I do incredibly insane things.... Best part? I still managed to pull off a 72% :D

It says I am ADD, because of the focus and sidetrack questions. But it is so hard when I do my homework in front of my pc with F-chat calling my name.

Just got around to reading this thread.
I always said that being a procrastinator in school was invaluable in training me to work under pressure later in life.

I keep ignoring this thread hoping it would go away and not require my input.

I started to write a reply but got distracted by cleaning up the mess from the 4th of July.

Then I didn't know what to write.

I wrote a reply but decided it wasn't funny.

    So then I wrote this.

Wow this is a perfect thread.

Does anyone else when questioned of your procrastination problem use the excuse I work better under pressure?

Its so hard not to procrastinate.

I have a serious problem with procrastination. It kind of pisses me off because my grades (while still ok) are not perfect like I am used to because I procrastinate so much. In high school it didn't matter because all I needed to was show up to get A's but in college it is a bit different.

I am starting to think that I have some sort of ADD problem. I am thinking about trying adderall to see if it helps me (I have heard some wonder stories) but don't know if I will be able to get it / if I actually have ADD or if it is bad to be on it long term (I imagine I would get very strung out).

For finals last semester I pulled 4 all-nighters in 8 days, most of them trying to learn 1/2 a semester's worth of material in 12 hours or something before a test. My best one was the last night, where I had to finish a Differential Equations project and an accounting paper. I started somewhere between 9 PM - 11 PM. I finished the accounting paper at 8 AM, finished the Diff. Eq. project at 8:30, proofread the accounting paper by 8:45, packed all of my stuff including golf clubs by 9:10, was picked up at 9:15, went to school, turned it all in, was at the airport by 10:30 for my 12:00 flight - Houston->Detroit->Frankfurt->Cairo, that ended up being a 4:00 flight from Houston->Frankfurt with a connection that got cancelled. I eventually did get to Cairo, although I was very, very tired and slept for about 24 hours with a few 15 minute waking sessions every 5-6 hours (literally).

Here we go again. I'm driving overnight tonight to DC, and I have a ONE page, double spaced memo to write and submit before I go.

    But nooooooo, here I am.
