Wow, an eight speed transmission? I thought I recall a study a few years back by F1 guys who came to the conclusion that 7 gears were optimum once the performance loss of times to shift were calculated against the advantage of having more available ratios?

Holy 7-Series BMW, Batman! Actually, it's really nice. That side profile pic made me do a double-take though.
The profile looks like a cross between the 7 series (in terms of size and general shape) and the 5 series (the rear quarter and tail lights)
Nice looking car.... I saw it up at the show as it was on display. I think it is a strong competitor for the S class.......
