Hmm...this might be a point. If you start a PC game and kill others, you walk away after the message "game over" and nothing has been changed in the real world. Even if 99% of all kids can discriminate between a PC game and reality, that still leaves is with 1% that don't...

he woke up today, though "awake" i'm not sure is the term they used. it's more along the lines of "no longer comatose".

let's just hope he's not fvcked.

and kind of selfishly, i hope that my friend returns to her "normal self" coz the minor good times and funny conversations we had when i was "her b!tch" (according to her :) ) seem so far away now. but this **** is pretty messed up. :(

update (check thread dates please): basically, his life is f.ucked :(

i spend a lot of time with this girl, and it's bloody heartbreaking to hear this crap, i hate it!

he's had dozens of surgeries, and will have to undergo dozens more. he doesn't remember a lot of stuff, and he's become 'annoying' to people now, which is totally fcucked, through no circumstance of his own.

just thought i'd update you's on how messed up humanity is.

no, as far as i know nobody has been blamed for this.

So sorry to hear this. From your brief description of his behavior I'm assuming he's got a good amount of brain damage. I knew a guy who'd had a head trauma and his cognitive and social skills were severely impaired afterward. He'd just begin to access information and randomly spew it out without any social buffers (if you will).

I hear you, I just stumbled on to this thread and will let you know that Lloyd Mincks, a beloved friend of mine was struck in the head with a 2" trailer hitch ball March of 2001 by a motorist passing in the opposite direction after he was leaving work. His car then hit a telephone pole and overturned. He died shortly after on the pavement after being thrown out of his truck. To this day, no one knows whom did this. His daughter graduates HS this year, I miss him very much to this day and will never understand why........

My warmest thoughts and prayers for all victims and their families.

This happened when I was stationed in Germany. A couple of American military kids were dropping rocks from an Autobahn walk-over onto cars below. One driver was killed. Well, needless to say the Germans didn't put up with that crap, and the American youths were hauled away to German jail against the screaming of their parents to American authorities to get their kids released. I heard that a case defense point raised was that they should not be held responsible as there was no sign prohibiting the throwing of rocks from Autobahn overpasses. The Germans were particularly unimpressed as you can imagine, and American authorities tacit - aware of the HUGE political cost in pushing for their release. I'm sure by the time the kids come home they will speak German quite well.

These actions are nothing new. Twenty years ago a kid threw a rock at my car and shattered my windshield. Luckily I was on a desserted side street only going 20 mph. The kid ran and I chased him on foot right to his parents waiting arms on their driveway. The father beat the crap out of the kid and paid for the windshield. Look at overpasses these days the way they have to make them so people can not drop stuff onto on coming cars.

It's a parental responsibility thing. I know my wife and I have had to work very hard to instill a sense of empathy and respect for others into our children and we still fight it every single day. They are surrounded by kids who never consider other's welfare in their actions, so we reinforce respect for others almost literally every single hour they are awake. It's very tiring, but what self-respecting parent wouldn't do this?

Oh wait a minute, self-respect implies a respect for others doesn't it?

Very sad, I wish the best to those hurt.

It was very comon in South America to have stones (Large ones) or bricks thrown at your car in an attempt to cause an accident. Then they would rob you, and leave you dead or alive on the side of the road.

    Bunch of Fockin Crack Heads!

As for the brick thrower, may the next thing thrown from an overpass be his lifeless body!
