Just a small problem.. in the owners manual it tells you to fill the header tank with coolant to just below the neck of the tank, if I do this , as soon as the car reaches normal running temp',it pumps a lot of water out of the overflow!!. then when cold it has about 2" of coolant left in the tank, whats the normal level???

What is your reference for this value -- which 512TR OM? The coolant level should be more like ~6 cm below the neck when cold to leave some room for expansion.

In the 1992 US 512TR OM, it says: "The level must not fall below 6~8 cm from the level of the coolant filler", but I know from other F documentation that this would be better translated as "the nominal (cold) level is 6 cm below the fill neck, and, if the level falls to more than 8 cm below the fill neck when cold, add more coolant (and, if it falls quickly/often, see your F repair shop to find out why)."
