Hmmm... Well, I'm very skeptical of this post. First he's got nothing filled out in his profile. That's not that strange but, someone's said here that Bull_Attack has three Lambos. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt but I'd like some proof on that. Second where did you get the info above? I'm assuming if you can afford a Veyron you can do some basic math and come to the conclusion that if indeed VW were to take a loss of 6 million on each of the 300 Verona being produced that would come to a mammoth 1.8 BILLION dollar loss! I doubt too many board members would survive the blood letting that would ensue after that kind of write down for one single car model. So my belief is the above info is false. I'm not saying that they're not taking a loss for the car, just not that amount. I'd think that if you actually had had the financial background to be able to be given a test drive in this car you probably would have figured out the math and either a) not included it as it's a bit out of wack or b) done some research and sited your source. What also strikes me is there's nothing in your post on the physical sensation of driving the car. I could write a book about what it's like to drive a Datsun 510 much less a Veyron. I seem to remember a couple of pics by another board member a few days ago that look almost identical to the pics you've posted here. And you're not him.
^^^ Several members of the exotic car boards on the net have been given a test drive via the Beverly Hills dealership including, but not limited to, Allan Lambo, Emil, one of the Porsche guys on 6Speed etc-- no reason to doubt Bull_Attack..
From what I have read, the loss was justified by VW because it is less than the amount VW would have to spend to enter F1 for a season. They figure the press from the Veyron is greater than a single season of F1, so they did it.
What is it about this place, that everytime someone newish posts something interesting half the people on here start attacking that person. If I were Bull_attack I might well just stick to posting on La*bo_Po*er where you don't have to put up with this crap
Numbers can be manipulated. I do not believe the Bugattis are being sold for 15% of their cost to manufature. I feel Bugatti is creating an urban legend with the loss per unit figure people are always quoting. Think about a normal corporate board of directors. Do you think the board would be willing to lose 1.8B in 2006 dollars to advertise the brand name for cars that are yet to be introduced? It is Hollywood accounting, some day the original Star Wars film may break even. Just because something has been stated and then quoted a million times does not make it a fact. It is yet to be seen how many Veyrons get built. Are there 300 customers for the Veyron? Only time will tell.
Would you like me to show off as an arrogant individual and shove this article about me and my cars in your face? Or would you like people like me who can share our first hand experience not post on this thread so that it can be hi-jacked by kids and wannabes. Stop sticking your foot in your mouth. http://europeancarweb.com/features/0505ec_xj/
Guys, Bull-Attack has three lambos. Each one has Bull-Attack in various forms each license plate. One Gallardo, Diablo, and Murcie.. if memory serves. Given the fact that he also owns TWO of the rarest cars in the world Jag XJ220S, I would cut the man some slack. BTW - I read that story about the Jag's before but never imagined it was one of our F-Chatters. Regards, Matt
First I don't believe I've stuck my foot in my mouth. I read your post and looked at your profile and based upon the limited amount of information supplied simply called into question the fact that VW is going to take a 1.8 billion dollar loss on this car model and that the photos looked oddly familiar. If the positions were reversed what would you do? Do you believe everything you read on the internet? Also this site has a very deep history of individuals lying about the cars they own and lifestyles they live. Personally I could care less what a person drives, it make me think no more or less of them. Well, that's not true. I have a personal intolerance for Hummer drivers. As for high jacking by kids and wannabes well I am no child and I'm certainly no wannabe. Although I don't own an exotic I am very happy with what I have. To many getting to test drive a Veyron is the equivalent of opening your Wanka Bar and finding a Golden Ticket. It enables you to experience what millions of others could only dream of no matter how rich or poor you are. I was supremely surprised that the test drive essentially amounted to stock performance numbers and this: Which amounts to "It was very, very nice to drive." "How was Willy Wonka's Factory!?!" "It was very, very nice." Apparently I'm not the only one who feels this way: I like Murcielago_Boy was looking forward to a first person account of the car. An "honest guy's account" if you will. There are few cars produced these days that actually get my blood going. Maybe three or four. And which ones I like would probably surprise you. This car is one that truly peeked my interest. And as far as, I guess you've already done that haven't you.
Funny that its always the ones with nothing, who are the most eager to try and discredit those they long to be. Less than 2 weeks ago, I was in my Murcielago with Bull Attack and 3 of his cars, a Supercharged Roadster Diablo, a 94 SE, and a Murcielago. If he says he drove the Veyron, he drove it, and be happy he took the time to try and jot into words the feelings of such an experience. He is also far from an arrogant man, but then again, being the lofty Mr2 driver that you are, id say your feelings are bent more towards jealousy, than arrogance. It is very hard to put into words, exactly what test driving the Veyron felt like, compared to my write up, I felt he did a nice, informative job. For Comparison: Just got back from a very gracious Veyron drive, compliments of the guys at Beverly Hills Lambo. Now mind you, this was not just any test drive, this was a full on ring out as much of the car as humanly possible on the street of L.A. drive, not a 5 minute trip around the block. The drive consisted not only of me cruising around in traffic, but SEVERAL full on acceleration bursts to as much as 135mph from traffic light to traffic light, and being able to STOP!!!! All I can say, is im in love. The car is rediculous. As far as what it feels to drive, the best I can liken it to, is that it feels like a Murcielago, with 5X the power, with a seemless transmission. Heres how it went. First go out with the test driver, who explains the car to me, and gives us some inclanation to the capabilities of the car. The tranny has three functions, click it to the right, and it is in drive. You just cruise like in any automatic car. Car is soo easy to drive, and visibility is very good, even though the seats are set too far down for my likeing. This is fixed at the factory, as they are matched to each persons requirements. Drive is for easy, normal driving. Then you click it again, and you are in Sport mode, or you can go into paddle shifters. I kept it in Sport, where the car holds the gear you are in, and shifts at 6400rpm. The tranny actually always has the next gear already engaged, making your shifts totally seemless. From short stoplight to stoplight, I hit slightly over 135mph, and what amazed me was the cars ability to stop. In between short bursts in traffic, everytime id get on it, instantly you are doing triple digits with brakes to match. People on the streets definitely recognize the car also, as it stops traffic wherever it goes. We must have also made a Camaro SS drivers day, when the test driver gave him a test of what the BUG could do, leaving him instantly behind. As I said, the feel of the car, is much closer to a Murcielago, then to say a Porsche Carrera Gt in my opinion. It was a fantastic experience, and many, many thanks to the guys at Beverly Hills Lambo for the opportunity. For me, the Bugatti is the DEFINITIVE Supercar, capable of making cars like the Enzo, look silly.
Got to love how this Senna21 kid demands a better write up, lol. This isn't "Car and Driver" son. Nor is it Burger King, you don't get it "your way." Be thankful Bull Attack even acknowledged your innane comments.
For those who are non believers Bull Attack Is a great member of this community and has been a part of FCHAT for a long time under a different name. He is very well respected in the car community. His stable of cars is always very unique and he is very generous when it comes to getting rides and learning information about his cars. Thank you Jean-Louis Ferrari Driving Club.
not trying to cause any confrontation here, just interested, but didnt there used to be a ferrarichat guy called xj220s who owned the two TWR xj220s cars, i guess bull attack is the same man? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55918
Do you have anymore photos of the car which you drove? I would very interested to see more photos if you have them ......... thanks
there are some great shots of the symbolic test car here http://www.exoticcarsite.com/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=album326 not mine, but as they have already been highlighted elsewhere, i think its ok to point you to them.
Be careful GSpyder and Piton will try to insult you and believe you want to be them! Let me just say it again... Aside from your condescending asinine remark about my car this is more the type of write up were used to here on Ferrarichat. Youll learn that although this is a site primarily about Ferrari its made up of driving enthusiast which in my opinion Id say 95% of those here could care less about what you own as long as you enjoy driving it. Most of us here dont own a Ferrari or a Lambo or anything else that could be construed as an exotic these days. But as youll find its many of us non owners, such as NNO, have contributed to make this site a lively place to come debate, laugh, and share our love of sports cars whether it be a Veyron or a lowly MR2 Turbo. And yes I do enjoy my MR2 every time I get into it. For what its worth it gives me better performance than a Ferrari 348 with unbeatable reliability and gas mileage. As someone who values that over flash Oh, and Piton if you click on the screen name you can see the writers profile. Im hardly a kid. Youll find you get taken a bit more seriously here if you at least fill in a little bit. You guys can also look up my prior posts to get more of an idea about me before you go off making half baked comments about my intentions.
My comments to you, were no more condescending then yours towards Bull Attack. Get over it. Im also glad you value reliability and gas mileage over flash. Both of those were high on my list when I purchased my vehicles. But hey, I like the Mr2, i had one when i was 16.
What is it with you discrediting people ? Were you the guy saying how your girlfriend doesn't care about Lambos and how Lambo drivers like to show off every time they see you in Hollywood or something along those lines ? Grow up and learn to respect older and wiser people without poking fun at them..
Can we just drop this little poking contest entirely? Okay if someone wants to be a retard then let them be, ignore the post and just carry on. The thing with trolls is, if you ignore them outright, they tend to leave pretty soon Now I'm not pointing the finger at anyone, just making a point. Okay back to the topic. More pix of the Veyron (and the two XJs, good God, having two, that's freaking orgasmic).
-Gordon Murray- The Veryon because of its high CdA figure and huge cooling drag needs 1001 hp to go 12 miles faster than a Mclaren F1 producing 627 hp.....a Mclaren F1 would "ONLY" need 740 hp to reach the Bugatti's top speed. A turbocharged Mclaren F1 producing 1001 hp would achieve 281 mph. LOL ! Yea Bugatti just raised the standard so high that other manufacturers must be going crazy......I beg to differ.
