No doubt. Pappas Bros here in Dallas has Kobe beef for $16/ounce with an 8oz minimum.

I ate it last year at the Tepan room in the Bellagio. It's like 'doing' a Hollywood model and going home to your 400 pound wife!

I was at the Tokyo Prince Hotel in October with Spicy and we went for Teppanyaki one night. The chef asked how I wanted it and I jokingly said "sashimi", he put the raw steak on my plate.

    Damn it was good too...

I'm inviting myself, and since I come from Canada, I will replace that Coors Light with some beer. :D

Don't worry about that palate insulting wine, it makes my ass itch in the mornings.

I'll supply the vino my friend.

If you are in S.F., try House of Prime Rib on Van Ness. It was highly recommended to me, as were making reservations. Went there w/o reservations, and the wait was like 90 minutes, so I went down the street to Ruth's Chris Steak House and was (again) slightly disappointed for the price.

Lately, I have been buying a lot of ribeye steaks and experimenting with different seasonings. I buy Coleman's natural beef (range fed, no hormones, etc.) at Raley's. Better than any restaurant I have been to. At a restaurant, I would rather buy something I don't do at home, like ethnic.

I am curious as to how the steak connoisseurs feel about the differences in origin of the beef (particularly Whart). Argentinian vs. American vs. Japanese beef - what are the differences? What is truly the best?

I can tell you this much, the beef in Brazil is much better than the beef here.

Buy some Waygu beef from Lobels.com shipped to your door, cook it with a little garlic salt and black pepper, then thank me. If you like good beef you'll love it, it's so tempting I took a bite out of it raw right out of the package because I couldn't wait to cook it. I wish it was cheaper.

PS Lobels, if you appreciate the free advertising, send me some more!
