2 Diablo Roadsters at roughly same price - equivalent to $155k :- Blue one - 1996 10k miles Centenary model(BHP upped to 600) Silver one - 1999 20k miles Thoughts gentleman please - what would these fetch in the States ? Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
roughly around the same price, mate.the 99spec would cost as high as $230k,though;depending on mileage. both are fab,but go for the audi-fettled 1999 roadster as the quality is higher and performance surprisingly better. IMHO,the 1999 roadster is much better as an open top car compared to the murcielago. the murcie does 202mph topless, but only 100mph with the top ON.(rubbish canvas tent, more like!) the diablo roadster does 201mph with the top ON,192mph TOPLESS. (the diablo roadster also feels much stiffer and rigid.)
I like the blue one better.......but on average buy the newest car you can afford right? Also the 99 has been driven while the 96 has sat around more.
take the newer one and don't be afraid of milage.....i am a firm believer. my 92 diablo w/ 28k simply runs better than my 97.5 diablo roadster with less than 7k.
I like the blue color better, but I would definitely opt for the newer silver model as long as it has maintenance records and everything checks out.
99 is a better buy. It has the new larger wheels (although) the one in the picture has been changed, larger brakes, dual airbags, new dash, much less produced and last year produced. Holds its value much better. By the way looking at the sidemarkers, these cars both seem to be Euro, are they? For a US car, a 99 at $155 with 20K miles is a very good buy. 99 Roadsters, 6.0s and 94 SEs have been going up in value.
I like the blue, but im wary of the mods that brought it to the alleged 600 HP....any listing on this? also, generally the newer one will give u less trouble, its a consideration even if mileage is/was a bit higher...
Thanks alot guys - yes they are Euro spec - I am in England. Amazed at the price differentials in the USA - perhaps more to do with the strength of sterling/weakness of dollar - who knows ? Also amazed at the diversity in personal preferences - from a purely aesthetic point of view I think the silver car shows the lines of the car far better - and I have to say I hate the original wheels on the blue car ! I've been quoted £5k(about$9K) for replacing the rims - is that realistic ? BTW what do you think of the rims on this '97 SV which is for sale at $132k ? By far and a way the most pertinent comments have been those that echoes Roytoys - I understand he is THE man - so will report back after I see both cars tomorrow. Image Unavailable, Please Login
sorry kent i really dont know what make they are...im more then sure you can get them not chromed as well....ill go on a litlle mission to find this stuff out...
I know this is tantamount to BLASPHEMY, but I have a 99 SV with half the miles that you are looking at and frankly I find it to be a POS. I traded a Ferrari for the Lambo and the Ferrari is twice the car that the Lambo is or purports to be. The car is awesome looking and performs as advertised, BUT it is HOT, NOISEY and PROBLEM prone. Whatever you decide I would look at it very closely and talk to some people that HAVE owned one!!!!! If it has a lift system look at that very closely---if you have to fix it, that is one very expensive repair.
The 99 roadster is one of the most desirable for the reasons stated by Roy. The rims on the yellow car appear to be Lowenhart BS5. Difficult to see from that angle...
? I had a 355 before the Daiblo and the Diablo is 10X the car! I have no mechanical issues, car runs cool and is not noisey even with Tubi. Any car that was purchased without due dilligence can be problematic.
