That'll teach me to believe something without checking deeper...it cannot be #2643 after looking for a photo of that car.

This is the site with the info stating that #18 is chassis #2643

    http://www.teamdan.com/archive/wsc/1962/62day3.html

but looking again at the picture could it be that the 250 is carrying the number 28, not 18? If so, then it could be Olivier Gendebien in the Scuderia Serenissima SWB chassis #2845.

Did Ally Ashe from FoW own 2845 at one time? Thanks for the website tip!

Here is a fun one from Daytona 1962. The garage at Daytona. Phil Hill in the middle, Luigi Chinetti Sr. in the back and Ryan in 0794. Don't know the serial numbers of the two SWBs?

Best I can find out is that #22 is chassis #2725 driven to 2nd in class at Daytona 1962 by NASCAR legend Fireball Roberts (even though barcehtta.cc says it was white not blue).

car #28 is chassis #2845 driven by Oliver Gendebien.

The original isn't very big so I don't know if it's good enough to turn into a poster + we would have to find "Corrado Millanta" to settle the copyright / reproduction fees.

    Jack,
I remember seeing a photo of a Cunningham (I think) that had a Ferrari V12 installed. Ring any bells?

Millanta is long deceased, but the collection still exists in the hands of a relative. I understand there are something like 100,000 photos!

Jack, your photos are superb. If you dont mind sometime, could you PM me and advise me on the best way to protect my photos. They are all original and i would like to have them on show, but dont want them to fade, as i know a couple are the only existing pictures as the negatives are lost.
Anyway, here's a few more to keep the blood surging!!!:)

The 250SWB pics back in post #60 are from Le Mans 1960. The yellow one #18, as stated by Erik, is 1931GT, not a 250GT Interim. They had slightly different bodies. The other one, red #19, is 1759GT driven by Ed Hugus/Augie Pabst to 7th OA and 4th IC. This car was present at the recently Cavallino Classic at Moroso.
