My 348 produces clouds of water vapour from cold, which I have been told by the local main dealer is not a problem - there is no mis-firing or strange smell and the car still runs great after 35000 miles. I have now noticed a little froth build-up under the oil filler cap. Should I be getting concerned!

You should drive it more. The froth is moisture in the engine that has not evaporated via operating temps.

    That's my guess

Dont be concerned friend. When a combustion cycle in the engine takes place,it actually produces water vapours and steam. It is perfectly ok when the engine is at normal operating temp, but when the engine is cold,at 1st start up,the water vapours condense and it chuffs the smoke/driplets of water at idle from the exhaust tips as you always see ;) Doin short trips in the car, when the engine barely warms up should be avoided if you can. No big deal really. Being a new fcar owner myself,i start the car and let it warm up for 10mins in the carport before i take it for a cruise around looking for hot chicks! hehe! Follow my lead son and all will be ok! :)
