My vents are spitting small annoying chucks of debris. I figure it's the foam in the system that's deteriorated. Anyone ever replaced this? Any gotchas in the process?

Yep, I think Carl Rose did one of his fantastic write-ups on this, including pics, some time back. Not a big deal, easy to do. Might have been on the old FChat. My foam had disintegrated to dust.
If it wasn't Carl, I apologize to the writer of said article. An easily followed procedure; even I was able to do it.

Could it be the foam in the heater box? If I remember correct, the front 'lid' with duct-hose pulls off without anything to unscrew.

Yes, most definitely. Replace the foam in those boxes and you're good to go.

    Tillman,
Can I suggest adding this to your "328 Primer". Sincerely, J.

Thanks for question. I always wondered about those dust specs.

Nope, it was me, guilty as charged! (smile)

I still have, goodness, 10 feet of the foam roll left in the basement. Anyone need a few pieces cut? Interestingly, the original is *not* a rectangle, but more of a "T". Let me know if you'd like some sent out.

    :) Carl
