Picked up issue #4 on eBay; on to Cavallino...
Congratulations! If you need an index of the contents, send me a PM. Cavallino will be a lot harder. Good luck.
You will probably save money if you wait for a complete set to come up on eBay. They are out there. I lucked out about a year ago and found issues #1-128 at a used book store. The best part was they cost me all of a quarter each!
I have some back issues available including the current issue. I will make a deal on what you want. That's if I have what you are missing. Hit the link from my post a few weeks ago to get the list. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87219
This place is real good for back issues of Forza. http://www.albaco.biz/store/home.php?cat=248&page=2 Obviously the older issues are more, but for #39 and other recent issues they are quite reasonable... 7.00US plus shipping. Same scenario for Cavallino. My wife just ordered the 5 latest Cavallinos (146-150) for me for Christmas and they arrived no problem and in great shape... I am missing the Holy Grail Forza #2... still holding out on that garage-sale-find-dream to come true... As for Cavallino i (now) have from 38 to present with a handful from the 11 to 33 range... just filling in with some lucky ebay finds. Hard to do... but fun looking...
I found Playboy the most difficult collection to complete. I started reading the magazine in college, and then decided to complete the collection a few years ago. The earlier issues, starting with the Marylin Monroe December 1950 i believe were very expensive..1200 dollars for a poor example of that issue...A complete set of cavallino wont set you back more than issues 1-12 of playboy. I have collected cavallino, playboy and forza and the fun is in the chase
I'm only missing #2 and #10 of Forza. Still looking at used book stores. Forget ebay, prices get out of hand.
Cavallinos for a quarter each! Wow! Anything below #20 is real hard, I gave up! I think I have #11..... As for Playboy the only old one I've ever purchased was the month I was born, as a souvenier...a strange Ferrari tie-in, it covered de Portago's demise in the MM...........he was going to write a first person article for them, on his race!
I might have Forza #2, I'll check, I don't care about it... Those were the ones damaged in the warehouse right after publication???
I HAVE MULTIPLE ISSUES OF FORZA #1 AND #2 AS WELL AS #3-20 BUT SINGLES OF THOSE WHAT ARE THE OUTRAGIOUS PRICES EBAY WANTS? I WILL GET RID OF THEM HERE TO COMPLETE COLLECTIONS. SCOTT
what sort of prices are you all paying for Cavallinos and Forza Magazines? I need cavallino 1-16 ...and then have close to 100 extra Forza and Cavallinos collecting dust - no Forza 1 & 2 extras
Magazines are in very nice shape. No pages torn or cut out. Includes some of the very rare early issues. Included are issues: 3, 5, 6,14,15,16, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30, 34, 35, 36, 37, 39, 40, 48, 5 these are at $76 with 1 day left $14 sh on ebay right now
Only one day left. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/23-used-Forza-Ferrari-Magazines-like-Cavallino-Rosso_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6755QQitemZ4603936204QQrdZ1 Lots of other Ferrari stuff from the same seller. Check it out!!
GOT IT!! Now the set is complete! Thanks Grant for helping me locate it! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations! BTW: In the recent issue of Forza a reader asks the question whether they would ever reprint lost issues and the answer is no. They recommend to search ebay and (get this!) our very own FChat! I suppose they're talking about the Collectables forum. Hehe.
I have a couple Cavallino but I am not impressed by the photos. The paper is good (thick) but not enough color photos. I think the Japanese Ferrari magazine has far more and better color photos.
Do you plan on keeping them? If not, What Numbers are they? I am missing a lot of Cavallino's and want to fill in the gaps.
I went to http://www.albaco.biz/store/home.php?cat=248&page=2 Are they serious about the prices for Cavallino 1-19? I've got #5-119 in the garage, might be time to put them up for sale. What's the best way to sell them off- individually or as a collection?
