    Or maybe he felt the other guy was a bigger risk to let continue at that speed than you. I would have done the same thing, with no thoughts of money whatsoever. Around here 40 over or 100 over is the SAME fine amount.

    Oddly enough, I drove past a cop sitting on the side of the road with a radar gun while passing through some small podunk town just north of Sarasota last weekend. I stopped at a red light no more than 1000 feet down the road, where my passenger and I witnessed drug deal go down right on the corner at the beat up old grocery store, in broad daylight, in front of at least 8 other cars stopped at the red light. I know that no one can know when and where these things will happen, but it was an interesting illustration of waiting-for-potential-but-not-that-bad activity vs. blatant crime taking place.
