I've been 5 times. It is truly unbelieveable. Let me know if you have any questions although the last time I went was 1999 so a lot would have changed by now.

First year opposite the swimming pool. Second year was at the Hermitage Hotel, then for the last 3 years watched from Stars 'N Bars which is opposite the Paddock. You can't really see the track but you can hear the cars during the race and watch them being worked on before and after. They have the race on a big screen. A lot of the 'excess' team members watch it from there too. The best bit is it's free.

Do you have to pay $45 for two cappucino's at paps place too?

Monaco is THE MOST EXPENSIVE PLACE at any time, and when F1 is in town, things go up.

Unless you have special guest status, I woudn't go.

My dad won a trip a few years ago... went on Concorde, watched from casino square etc.... all good etc, but you gotta have corporate access or similar to get by in Monaco F1 time. You can't even walk around the place easily if your pass won't let you through this gate or that gate.

Do a fairly cheap organised tour by all means if you really want to go, but don't "wing it" on your own... you'll be frustrated.

During the racing the circuit is sectioned off and makes movement difficult, however in the evenings you can walk everywhere, and that really is the best time to see everything.

It's not that expensive however be prepared to spend at least $10 for a beer. Drink 10 a day and you've only spent $100!!! Bargain if you ask me.

Ive been a couple of times but always accomodated for on private balconies. Id suggest getting a 'paddock pass', which although expensive, lets you explore the right places. Especially considering alot of Tango hangs around there...
As for getting around the place, yeah its pretty hectic considering you can usually walk from one side of the city to the other in about 10 minutes.

It was OK although the cars travel slowly through that area so it's not the best, although the one of the cheapest.

    Where is that?

It's the hotel going up the hill on the left hand side before Casino Square, before the Hotel de Paris. Not many Grandstands in that area though.

This Stars 'N Bars is this in the circuit do you have to pay for general?

When I was there it was free, but you had to ask for tickets or passes a few days before to get you into the circuit. Go in a few days early and ask them. It is right next to the paddock.

i went in 1984, but its changed a bit since then, like senna is dead and there are no hairdryers on the cars but the honky little french tarts will be baring all so take some prophalectics, STD's are more on the rise (like other things)
