Possibly now known as a Ferrari Carnivale on Portrush Road earlier this evening. It was a black debadged Kia Carnival, but now carrying a 30mm high yellow Ferrari shield badge on the rear tailgate, and another one in pride of place where the Kia badge used to be on the front. To add further insult it also had Prestige Formula number plate frames also with Ferrari logo. Rego number was XDW 308. Even as a non-Ferrari owner, I find it strange that people think that changing a badge makes it something else. Almost as if the owner may have an identity crisis too.......
or maybe he's just a HUGE ferrari fan. some people wear ferrari hats and shirts...yet they've never owned a ferrari. is that wrong too? there's a good chance no one actually thinks it's a ferrari....although Kias are pretty good cars
No, but it can be pathetic.. Example, the guy I saw on the weekend wearing the hat, matching t-shirt and he even went as far to wear matching red shorts as well... Interesting look...
i found a good picture of a KIA... Killed In Action: http://www.euroncap.com/downloads/media/phase12/kia_carnival_2003.jpg
I have the ultimate "Ferrari looking non-Ferrari" for all of you, just need to organise a time with the owner to take some pics. scud will be most impressed.....
I was asleep for those 7hrs, I probably won't get pics until later in the week.....don't worry, theyll arrive.
Soo put a sticker on a window. Rebadging the car goes from fanboy to riceboy. The GTR badge is a favourite for ricers then comes the Ferrari badge.
excellent...i didn't know. i'm getting a GTR badge for my car. hmmm..might put one on the scooter as well
It is a known fact in the ricer community that adding a GTR badge will gain a min 50kw Ppl will be scared to run your scooter, you should hide the badge to make it a sleeper haha.
heh yeah the ricers dug their own grave. i see probly 10-15 GTR badged cars a day and i'm barely on the road for more than half an hour. years ago the first time i saw one i thought it was pretty cool, since then, not worth wasting calories moving my eyeballs.
Perhaps the funniest thing i saw was on a dvd with exotics, and it shoots to this guy with a ford mustang, with GTR badges on it. The guy comes up to him and goes, mustang gtr huh, special edition eh? its got a nice rotary engine huh? the guy goes yep, and it has pistons as well... LOL i really dont get whats with changing badges on cars to make out something that it isnt...
haha yeah i got a copy somewhere, i wonder if google video has a copy save me finding it !! Here is a Laser/Escort GTR http://www.cartpushers.net/lar3.jpg edit: looks like it was from the gumball 3000 dvd.
