Not entirely sure of your definition of a highway killer....used Viper? Corvette Z06?

I don't know what you are after either...

If I was in your boat, I would buy an old SL600 (R126)...just because I like the way it looks.

What's a highway killer? A fast, inexpensive sedan? Great gas mileage? Not too sure here, but my suggestions would be 300C SRT8 (not sure if they're down to $45k yet, but should be darn close), e38 M5, or CTS-V...all 400+ HP, good cruisers, comparable room...only question is slushbox or stick...

A used BMW e39 M5 will do the trick quite nicely...in a stealth fashion to boot...stay away from the Benz sedans as they only come with slush boxes...

Yeah, I should have provided more info. I currently have a BMW 750 (the one with the V-12), but it's getting long in the tooth. I'm interested in a big sedan or coupe.

    Thanks for the ideas!

I like the smooth ride comfortable driving and great trans of the Lexus GS430. Just my $.02. For around $45k you can get a nice '04 if you look enough. Also, you should not need a repair budget.

The e39 M5 is a far different sedan than the 750i...drive one and see for yourself.

That looks like a wicked good buy. If I had 30 grand liquid and were looking for a new set of wheels I would consider it.

I'm surprised no one has suggested one of the SRT-8 triplets: 300C SRT-8, Magnum SRT-8, and Charger SRT-8. All will be in the low $40k's with some options, and are somewhat stealthy (esp. the 300C and Magnum).

If you are moving form the 750, I would buy a S55 *maybe*, but I would probably just buy the last year 750 sport (2001).

    I love that car.

Did you ever see Fun with Dick and Jane?

I would have to also suggest an '01 750. Those cars are about 1/3 of their new price with low miles. Even the Protection Package ones are really low prices.

Edit: For anyone interested in that SL600, I would probably call up Renntech and given them the VIN to verify if they have actually worked on that car and put those features in. Just to double check.
