    Hello

    Any body aware of these tools available by Gates to perform timing belt change, They will work on ferrari. They have a multi-lock tool part # 91009 to lock the cam for belt chang, plus other tools to make timing change life much easier. www.gates.com/aftermarket/products/tools

    yes but they are for the curvelinear tooth layout i.e. HTD not our trapezodial one. if i get my project done then we'll be able to use those...:)

    That's the Gates Multi-lock. Description:

    "Multi-Lock Tool eliminates the risk of expensive damage from interference piston-to-valve or valve-to-valve contact by "locking" twin camshafts in place during timing belt replacement or engine overhaul. (Part No. 91009)"

    It's a tad pricey tho:
    91009 Gates Multi-Lock Tool $270.00

    Snap-On, & Baum sell different color versions of it for similar big bucks. Altho, I think the Gates price is the highest I've seen for it. Possibly it's made overseas & the exchange rate has driven the price up.

    As smg2 said, It's believed to only work with the newer curvilinear belts, not the earlier trapezoidal belts.

    I don't get the comment about:

    "curvelinear tooth layout i.e. HTD not our trapezodial one"

    I take it to mean it won't work on 308/328/... ???
