mhh, ash... or anyone who knows.

    two questions.

    1. The Suspension! Is this the same as the targa car stokell drove... ie. an option available on the regular G (20% harder or something)

    2. The Exhaust! Again, the same as the targa car? also an option available on the regular G?

Heard the targa car when it was in the workshop (before it was crashed) in melbourne and at sandown .iI sounded very VERY horny, just like it does in that video ash put up.

That looks much nicer than stock...

The only thing that would be better would be a nice carbon piece... (I'm such a sucker for a tasteful use of carbon fibre)

You can go lower and not have too much grounding if you fit stiffer springs.

I get springs custom made in about 2-3 weeks, and can draw up a spec from a sample if I can have it to test.

And I sell a set for about what it costs for 1 std Ferrari spring!

The car looks great YSS, and I like the front bar - good to see little touches which set cars apart from others.

The standard question to any new supercar owner on the site - are you coming to Alice Springs with us this year? :)

YSS, I like the bumper job too. It's got me wondering why the factory didn't do it that way.

I can't wait to see the stereo upgrade. The Gallardo is seriously deficient in this area.

Ash and I took the SE up Gorge Road - Cudlee Creek - Lobethal - Verdun today. We saw about 10 Porsche Caymans (Caymen?) heading the other way on a dealer or press launch. We were low on fuel and had meetings to go to, otherwise we would have turned around and bothered them.

So are you using the SE as a daily driver at the moment, or is that still the M5's job?

I want to see some bloody Gallardos in Perth, still haven't seen one on the street  - Barbagallo STILL have that silver one (at least a year now), seems nobody here wants to buy them. :(

That really is odd. Here there are several - mine, Curly's metallic black, Kevin Weeks' car, some other black one that I haven't seen and I met a guy at Solitaire who has ordered a Spyder -for delivery in October. I suspect my car on the road a lot over the past 2 years helped sales here. Barbagallo would be smart to do a deal to get one on the road - it is the best way of selling them.

Edit, to answer your question on the daily driver, what is an M5? ;)

Hmm, maybe I'll ask Barbagallo to let me use it as a daily driver and "spread the word" for them. :p

A supportive email from a Gallardo owner in Adelaide would probably help the cause..... ;)

    Hahaha!!!

Gorge rd is nice - you must be working very hard to get the car run in....

Hope that you will bring it to the Alice in August . Seems that I will be the only one with the same car!!

Roadster was just too low in the windscreen for me. Didn't like the Egear either really.

What happened to the old car trade or private sale?

Very very nice. I presume the SE is meant to be the "Challenge Stradale" of Gallardos? I don't know so much about Lambos, and still have yet to find a ride in one!

I have been in your M5 though. ;) How has that been going? Any problems?

James, the M5 is going well. I've done about 8,000km. It is in for service tomorrow to get a replacement cupholder fitted and a couple of other minor things.

It isn't getting much attention this week though!

The SE is only a mild variation on a standard Gallardo, not a lightweight, higher powered version like the CS. All 06 versions of the Gallardo are a little more powerful, tighter and harder in steering and suspensions than earlier models.

The Gallardo Special Edition isn't really what you'd call a "Challenge Stradale" equivalent as it's not a stripped down version of the G; it's more a tweaked version of the normal car with 20 extra bhp, cosmetic enhancements and general refinement. It's also limited edition (250) - more exclusive and hence will help sales. You can only choose from 6 different colour combos (see previous pages on the details). The concept is similar to the Diablo SE30 or even Murcielago 40 AE.
FWIW, Lamborghini have an updated version of the normal G (MY06 and onwards) and besides the cosmetic differences, the MY06 and SE are the same.

There has been talk/speculation of a Gallardo SV (Sport Veloce, similar to a CS equivalent; stripped down, RWD etc) but nothing is official yet.

Last August a bunch of us (owners/passengers) met up in Alice Springs for 5 days of doing nothing (well nearly) but driving on the speed-free roads. It was a great opportunity for the owners to test out the upper limits of their cars, some crazy dude managing 332kmh in his Porker. :D

    Story here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69506

    My pics here: http://www.ozcarsightings.com/update3a.html

The plan is to do it again this year, with (some) new cars (a couple of F430's already, M5's, Gallardos, Murcielago, 911's etc).

I'm sure if you meet up with Mark or Ash you'll hear all about it....
