You gotta have permissions for that particular forum to view IPs for posts made in there. If you just look at the IPs using the standard mod tools it really looks like a solid match up and until mahwon pointed out that they had posted so closely together yesterday and I took another look at it.

if he chooses not to do so, then i recommend that he be stripped out of his moderator status because he can not admit when he is wrong.
