WHAT THE HELL!!! that is th ugliest 355, i've seen! but its not as worse as the hello kitty testarossa
OK, totally unrelated to the "artwork" on this 355, but I did notice something that is bugging me with my yellow 98 355 Spider and see it in this car. Do you notice the whitish inner circles on the tailights (backup light section) on the photos of the rear of the car? Now, on the left brake light unit the inner backup light is clearer than the inner backup light on the right side (right and left as viewed from the back). My car is the same way and it bugs the heck out of. Ok, maybe nit picky, but is this normal? Any others have this? I am trying to think of a way to slightly fog up the clearer light to make it look more like the right side.
Well the car is probably gay because the artist who painted it is as well...no I mean he really is gay =) That looks like The Collection's used car lot here in Miami and looks like its done by artist Romero Britto. Some idiot will buy it as a "Britto original"...the artist essentially caters to the "new rich" and "tacky" crowd so in Miami it should be an easy sell....
Matt, been covered many, many times. The 355, 550, 575 and 360 all use the same tail lights, the center back up bulb was poorly designed with the bulb mounted to close to the lens. Basically everytime you are in reverse, you are slowly melting the center of the two inner tail lights. There is no fix, just replace the tail lights when the start to look really bad. I would imagine that using a lower wattage bulb or a LED type cluster bulb would eliminate the problem. I had my tail lights replaced before purchase, and after almost 3 years, have had no problem, and I have to back out of my driveway each day. I just remember NEVER to leave the car in reverse for long periods.
NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My next car WILL be a 550 Grigio something!!!!! Whether it's Ingrid or Titanium....
Yes, the artwork "style" indeed does belong to Romero Britto, unfortunately I have 3 of his painting hanging on my wall. LOL! He is fairly popular only in "Southern Miami", his gallery is located on Lincoln road/South beach. I have lived in South beach for two years, and his arkwork is fairly common to see everywhere sort of a fad thing.
