Yup, I have crossed over to the dark side officially as of about 12:30PM CST today. Rob already changed my name for me. I will put a load of pics in the showroom section when she arrives at the house either Sunday or Monday. 97124 last 5 94 348 Sider 36,705 miles Passed compression/leakdown at Norwoods PPI turned up very little Runs perfectly BIG difference between this one and my previous 308! -Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations. That's a huge jump from the 308, welcome to the more "exotic" ownership!! That is a beauty, well done. Stephane Scaledetails
Thanks all - Can't get the delivery guy on the phone in Dallas - oh well. Might have to wait until Monday before she is here. I am SOOOO glad I did not drive it home. A piece-o-sh_t lawn care truck/trailer dropped a pair of pruning shears in front of me on I45 South on the way home...wacked my BMW's underside pretty good. It sounded like a horse kicked the underside. Nothing broken. Lovely mark on the plastic protector shroud. I do NOT want to think about what would have happened to the 348. That would have been some serious unhappiness for a 1st run. Got to test driver her around Dallas Love field. Totally different car. Much more of a handful then the QV was. Please please let the driver not be a football fan...Superbowl? What superbowl? Nah...just haul her on down here!
Not yet my friend, but very soon I hope!! I am looking for a yellow one if anyone has any leads, thank you. Stephane Scaledetails
Mike, Welcome to 348 Brotherhood. I have a red 94 348 Spider as well; however, a black interior. I think Spider is a very unique and you will enjoy it. Best wishes. TJ
Congratulations and welcome to the brotherhood. I drove mine 200 miles today just cruising SoCal. I will highly recommend a Tubi and Hyperflow cats - top down in a tunnel is (around 7,000 rpm in particular) is about as good as it gets. Wish I'd had the $$$$ for your 308 - I still want one but I ain't ever getting rid of my 348... Cheers Kevin
Welcome. Dont let these mooks downplay the car. Car is unique and one of the finest top down convertibles ive ever had...and ive had a lot of them!
Congrats! Beautiful car... Methinks you wouldn't have even been behind the p.o.s. lawn-care truck in the FCar, but that's water under the bridge at this point. Drive it in good health!
OK fellas, who is going to show Mike the secret handshake? WELCOME TO THE CLUB!! Here, as a 348 Brother, you'll find what it means to be emotionally secure in your automotive choices, and spiritually pure in your driving!.
You guys should have seen it. A group of us went to Norwoods to check out the car and Mike was pacing around and grinning like an expectant father. Only thing missing were the cigars! Donuts substituted nicely. Interesting to see the Norwoods guys in action during a PPI, nothing left to chance. Congrats Mike! Great meeting you today.
Congrats. My dad got his 348 spider from a seller in Dallas and has had no real problems in the past year. Glad you are getting it soon. It looks like a CLASSIC! BT
Of course logically, you wouldn't have been in the same place at the same time driving another car, so it wouldn't have happened anyway. A couple of months ago, I was hit by a FIRE EXTINGUISHER bouncing around on the West Belt. After you get settled in, I'd like to know if you'd be willing to rent the passenger seat out for a ride. I've got a 348 on my watch list, but have never seen one close up. Congrats!
I've had them all, but to me the 348 screams "Ferrari" the most. Sound and looks are hard to beat in my opinion. Stephane Scaledetails
I'm probably headed over to Grady's after it arrives tomorrow (Monday - 5 ish). I am all of 4 miles from his place. There is another Houston FCA member buying a 94 Spider but it will be under the knife immediately after purchase due to LONG overdue 30k and much garage queen status.
Lol. The "Will the 348 be a classic?" thread was dying peacefully and now we get this bloody hunk of meat tossed in the water...
