Favourate arcade games!

That game has good graphics for the time of its release, but the physics were too wonky for my liking.

 

I used to power slide through corners all the time, which I preferred not to do. I'd like to buy a one or two of those in the future, but have all the stages unlocked. I could never get past the second stage (I think the airport) The graphics were pretty awesome at the time, I haven't played one since around 2001.

I used to play one of the Pac Man arcades at the dentist's waiting room when I was a kid. They had the two player version (table kind) where the TV faces straight up. I always liked going to that dentist because of that, haha (it was free to play, too ).

 

Nobody, and I mean, nobody can, er, could beat me at CENTIPEDE

Extra life every 12000 points - scored over 3 million points buncha times and left the game to fend for itself - with a hundred plus extra lives left.

Be that as it may, wish I could say I had same results with DEFENDER - damn, that was a great game. TEMPEST was a uh, blast, too.

Family owned an arcade when I was growing up in Ft Lauderdale called Gran Prix Race O Rama...spent every free moment there.

 

The only arcade driving game I ever played that had a clutch pedal was Hard Drivin'. That's really the only good thing about the game too.

 

Ferrari F355 Challenge: This is the game made me want a F355. And unlike the other people that play it with out assists I actually do really good (I have held the top times for Montigi and Monza for 4 years, Suzuka short for 2 years, and hold the second fastest time for Sugo).

Sega's Airline Pilots: Seeing how I fly small planes I try to up the challenge by having a few beers, then trying to do a one engine landing.

Afterburner: I'm sure that if I were drunk and reciving a lap dance I would still easy own everyone in this game.

There are a few others but, those are at the top of my list.

Killer Instinct 2 is the BEST fighting game of all time IMO. I have a dedicated arcade machine of KI2 at home!!

You got Astroids? No...but my dad does!

The game that taught me to drive stick....I can't remember the name, it was the first to have a true clutch and shifter(drivers education graphics).

As for my pick: SF2 and all of its variants. Haven't played it in about 5 years but I will stilll own just about anyone in it.

Hmmm memory lane...in order

1. Tempest
2. 10-Yard Fight
3. Winning Run

Winning Run was the first "3D Racing Sim" (by Namco as I recall) I used to travel to the East coast arcades of an evening to play it (170mile round trip) That was before speed cameras lol the trip back at midnight was the best bit

ps. Its Mortal Kombat with a 'K' - I should know I programmed the Amiga and Atari ST home computer versions! - memory lane indeed FATALITY

 

Nope it wasn't a B-52 the plane that you flew in 1942 (well actually most of the 194X games) was a P-38.
