lol, but there was a thread in cars, motorcycles, boats and planes and it had a link to an M5 owner saying the new SMG tranny was crap.
I've driven the SMG in a M3 and it was wicked. The new ones could only be better i'm assuming? Either way i'd rather have a 6-speed manual.
I second that. Although i'd take a 6 speed. The 04 M3 Cab SMG I drove once amazed me. A very smart system. But what do I know, I have a beaver on my head.
I was waiting for the ***Pop*** Gotta give bimmer there props, I loved my 535, it hit 300,000kms and still went strong. I still miss that car. Good post, much more quiet than I expected.
My wife just put down a deposit on the weekend for a new M6 convertible that will be available for delivery in Oct/06. It will be a 2007 model year.
Thanks for the clip. I'm curious, does anybody know where the video was shot? Unbelievable that the guys on the bikes would be even attempting that speed. One wrong turn of the wheel and you're done for.
I understand that. You said BMW is coming out with a 6 speed in an earlier post. I said it has existed since 2000. geeezzz. Nevermind.
Now that is a sweet ride. My neighbor last summer just got his ragtop 645 blk/blk and I drove this thing and it went like gang busters. Your gonna love that car, i cant imagine how much better they can improve on that. Good luck !!
Ok, let me say that differant. BMW will be coming out with a six speed manual 500hp M5 some time soon.
The 7 speed is available only with the sequential paddle shift transmission (F1), and the 6 speed manual will be available later on this year.
A short film in which the getaway car is a Vanquish. All CGI animated. Just plain incredible. http://www.atomfilms.com/contentPlay/videoAutoPlay.jsp?id=prey_alone
