I have the engine out of my Mondial T and doing the major on it. I just removed all of the cams and changed the shims required to adjust the valves. There is not enough clearance between the crankshaft pulley and the cam belt drive gear to get the cam belt off? Do you have to remove the crankshaft pulley to get the cam belt off of this engine? How would you lock down the crank to get the retaining bolt off of the front and retorque it once the belt is off? The belt on a 3.2 I use to have would just slip off in between these two pulleys. Ideas anyone?

You will have to undo the bolt securing the damper, probably the easiest way is to remove the starter motor and get an assistant to carefully wedge (say a large screwdriver) the blade into the ring gear / and against the casing whilst you undo the bolt

The bolt will have to be re-torqued to 20 Kgm which is 145 lbft

For removal, I just buzz the bolt off with an air gun. The crankshaft pulley should just slide off by hand.
For installation, you don't need to remove the starter motor in order to lock the flywheel, you can just remove the plate at the bottom of the clutch housing and lock the ring gear teeth. Ferraritech is right on with the torque spec.

You need to take the pully off with an impact wrench that has at least 350 lb/ft of torque.

    Oh yeah one more thing.

Just done my cambelt on mondial T, pm me if you like and ill let you kow what i learnt.

I used air gun to take of main pully so you can get to the belt. I wouldnt want to risk jamming it with anything, expensive if you break anything being to ham fisted. I also used locktight when putting it back on.
    Thread is normal direction.

Cam tensioners were stiff to remove.

I rang Karl at verdi and helped with a couple of the questions you mightask if never done one before.

No when i get my cam covers back from paint shop i will start to put it all back in the car. A bit cleaner and nicer than when it came out.
