I need to kick the non-diet cola drink habit, but some of the diet colas I've tried taste pretty bad. So which diet ones taste most like the non-diet ones they are based on?

Diet coke is closer than diet pepsi, but they both suck.

Diet 7 Up ain't too bad, but it's the un-cola.

I have to agree that Diet Dr. Pepper, even the caffein free version, taste closest to the original. But of course, it's not a cola at all.

    Coke Zero isn't bad

Most of the diet Sprite/7 Up drinks are pretty close to the normal soda

Diet A&W Rootbeer is good. It's got no after taste, except rootbeer flavor.

Coke with Spelenda is pretty good..I also like the Coke Zero.

My wife had a bottle of the black cherry/Vanilla diet Coke the other day and that wasn't too bad either.

Diet Mt. Dew is pretty good. Diet A&W also isn't bad, but the difference is still noticable.

If you need to switch then just get off of soft drinks period. They're all crappy for you in some way. Try working more water into the rotation. It's good advice. I don't do it, but you should.

Coke Zero is the closest one. Drink it straight out of the fridge and you won't feel the difference.

I hate diet soda's cause of the kick at the end. I have been drinking diet pepsi w lime. It almost takes away the kick.

I need to do a study though. before I met my wife I weighed 165 for 10 years. After I met her she made me change to diet sodas, bam, now I weigh 45 pounds more. Maybe its the diet soda. I cannot be sure. One thing I do know, Its not her cooking!

BING BING BING...clearly the winner; most people have no idea it's even diet!

Let me offer a few other tips...try getting into ice-tea; there are lots of flavors and instead of just not being caloric & potentially unhealthy (like soda), you can instead get into lots of anti-oxident & other cleansing stuff...so it's good for you! I bought a ice-tea brewing machine and often toss several flavors into it....rasberry, green-tea, black-tea, etc.

If you really need your fizz-fix, try using Diet 7-up but add some cranberrry juice, apply juice or other fruit juices to flavor it up.

Another great tip is to drink any of these things in the presence of hot naked super-models....the huge amount of sensory information from your eyes will easily distract you from any poor taste in the soda....which takes us back to the glass of phlegm Mr. Wax was talking about....OR WAS THAT PHLEGM?????????

i just had my first Coke Zero.

i'm astounded how they so accurately managed to get the taste of flat coke into a carbonated drink.

IMO, diet Coke is better than diet Pepsi. Dr. Pepper is probably the closest for me.
