I am sure you are correct in that he means Phoenix.

It is clearly evidence of his high level of moral fiber, in that he is willing to make that sacrifice for us (read the team), his dedication and selflessness are admirable. :D

Phoenix International Raceway is actually S.W. a little way from Phoenix proper. It's really cool...you take the highway, get off then take this little 2 lane road South for aways then, all of a suddden, there it is! It just kind of Pops Up right up in front of you. Kind of desolate area, except for a few small houses along the 2 lane road here and there.

The Track, the stands, everthing is really nice. I took my Son there on the trip we made last Eastertime '05 to watch a few NASCAR drivers take practice runs. Very Cool! Those cars sound great, and the track is surrounded by Mountains and Canyons. So the sounds of the Race Cars resonate and echo throughout.

I took some Video from right along the wall as the cars passed by at 200 MPH. And, I mean that they were literally inches away from the wall. What a Buzz!

Haha! It was a tough decision to make, but I thought I just had too! PIR is Phoenix International Raceway.... It was fun, with the road course, you can get almost on the track, and there is not much stoping an Indy car or Can-am from giving you a trip to the hospital! And to Frank...You should see, they are replacing all the stands and VIP boxes.
Anyway....Not 1/10th the BRIC, but there were a select few cool cars. No Ferraris, but what can ya do?
Pics will be up/linked later tonight.......
P.S the main thing was classic Nascars...which was kinda cool, brought back childhood memories.

    Kip,
Did you hit Bill Johnson's Big Apple for pancakes? They are good!

The one on Van Buren, by the airport is the original.

But you do have to behave, the waitresses wear sidearms.

Yup, that one. AF directly supported by the body, so it is superfast. And given the 1.5 magnification through the chip in essence I got now a 750mm lens! I totally love it. Here a shot from the 2005 Canadian GP:

LOL! Yes, it is legal to carry a handgun in Arizona as long as it is completely in view. No concealed weapons, though. And some places make you "Check in" your Gun upon entry. I imagine that Banks would be first on that list....:)

Yeah, that neighborhood by the Airport is a tad rough. So I can see why the waitresses carry sidearms....:)

I always enjoyed going into a Swiss bank in uniform carrying my weapons. And I felt better carrying them as I normally left with enough cash to buy a Ferrari.

Wow! And I thought that the stands were fine the way they already were! That place will really be awesome now!

Dontcha just love the sounds of the cars echoing through the Valleys and reverberating off of the Mountains in the background?....:)

As Quartermaster of our batallion (later regiment) I had to pay out in cash the salary for every soldier/officer for an entire month. The Army gave me a check book and with that I went to the Bank. You leave with about 100k in paper and coins. Has quite some weight to it as well.

    Hey Mike,
In the recent past, you displayed a momentary case of wobbly knees, while viewing a similar item in the past, so I thought that you might be interested in this one.
