"Of the estimated 1.5 million players worldwide around 90 percent are from Canada, giving the country the highest number of curlers per head of population."

    That's a lot of curlers...

Curling is actually a lot of fun to play, and takes a great deal of skill. It has every right to be in the Olympics with the many other bizarre sports. However, I occasionally play just to get drunk. Much like golf, it's a great excuse to get drunk; and without all the walking.

The game brings a smile to my face.

Just flipping channels, then suddenly landing on curling... it's like wtf! And then a big smile on my face because it looks so funny.

Canadians dominate curling because they made it up.

Kinda like all these Xgames sports we're dominating.

Was thinking the same thing. May be difficult but I don't see any use of athleticism in it. My grandma could be a world champ. if she practiced enough.

Where's the athleticism in golf? it's all muscle memory, much like curling. They're finesse sports.

Curling and Hockey: both on ice
    Hockey has brawls: curling doesn't

    Advantage: Hockey! :D

Hockey i can dig, it's not an easy game at all. Curling? Another story. They should give that on TV at 2am when the people that actually care enough to watch it are up.

The girls of Curling are very hot from what I'm seeing right now... they should start playing in bathing suits... Then I would really watch it all the time.

I only caught a snippet before I lost it and changed the channel. I think it was the Japanese team. Not bad at all. But an olympic sport? Put a goalie in front of the target or something, lol

    mmm...apples!

I was actually wondering the same thing. I'm sure curling is a great time, and no doubt is difficult to get good at. But isn't a bit of a "niche" game? It seems like one year the Olympics must have had a hole in the schedule and so curling snuck in.

I was watching it yesterday as well.. Cassie Johnson was definitely a cute chick.

Could've done without having to look at the Canadians though.
