    ...saw this car at Laguna Seca on Saturday as part of a vintage racing event - gorgeous. I hope I got the model number correct. It was painted on the front fender, and the "6" looked like a "G" which also looked sort of like the "C". I think that's what it said, though. Had a list of races it had competed in, one of which was the Targa Florio in '54.

    Is this a fairly important car in Maserati history? Unfortunately, I did not have my camera with me - what was I thinking?!? At any rate, just thought I'd mention it here to see what, if anything, you guys might know about it.

    This is a Maserati A6 G Frua Spider (#2191), a non-racing car. The Targa cars were A6 GCS Spider versions, very important Maserati racing cars of that era. This is what these cars looked like.

    #2089 is a plendid car to look at. Meanwhile the sidelights were removed from the body right?

    If I were the owner of #2078 I would have the list of races corrected...showing Targa Floria as a race , unless a claim of an unknow race in your garden,,,seem quite funny. Always the risk to have non Italian speaking people painting on your car,
