hi guys, i need some info on on board camera systems for race cars o normal cars, thoes anyone has a system like this installed on their car? any recomendations? has to have good image quality(acceptable at least) thanks for the help ROLO
I've been using a Sony handycam mounted to my harness bar, and also have a Chasecam suction mount which works great on helmets, motorcycle tanks, and pretty much anywhere else smooth enough to mount it. There are lots of different types of mounts, cameras, and recording systems for exactly the purpose you have in mind here: http://www.chasecam.com I just had the suction mount on my helmet with a Sony HC21 during a snowmobiling trip a couple weeks ago, and can verify that it does indeed hold up to some NASTY conditions. I've got a PDR100 on order, I'll post a review here when I get it.
Wow.. $40.00USD for 3 suction cups and a tripod mount?? Thats CRAZY. God Bless America. Yey Capitalism!!
What kind of car? If it's open-cockpit then look for a lipstick camera that you can connect to a video camera mounted somewhere inboard. For any kind of enclosed-cockpit car, there are tons of mountings and you can put it anywhere you wish. You can probably make one yourself if you're so inclined.
the guy who wants it may use it on a closed race car or on some open cars like a modena spyder or some others! it has to be compact because he may want to use it while driving with a passenger thanks
Suction camera mounts from filmtools.com These were on my car and I got some nice canyon videos off them. PICs: http://www.pcars.us/viewalbum.php?a=152&start=75
