So out of the $22MM payout they each receive they will net approximately $15MM after taxes.

I think that a few of them could potentially be broke later on......one or two good mistakes is all it takes.

    Idiots.

I've never understood why lotto winners feel the need to publicize themselves.. get a blind trust setup and get a hired hand to accept the check on your behalf. You've got 6 months; I'm guessing not one of them changed their mailing address or unlisted their phone number..

Lotto laws in mosts states require discloser.

My wife wanted to play, so I told her ok...... if she got the winning ticket. She failed me..................

why does it always seem that either someone who is on the verge of being completely broke, or some random person in the middle of the country always win the big lottos?

Some multi-millionaire won a $100mm+ one a few years back.

I think Delaware is the only Powerball state that doesn't require your name to be made public. If I were to play Powerball again (only did it once in Indiana when it got to $290mm last Fall), I'd do it in Delaware. Too many people would be after your money or something. Plus I don't think I could make any new friends or gfs that I trust after that point, call me crazy...

Edit: Pulled this off of Powerball's site:

Even if that's true, I still don't think you can prepare yourself for such a windfall in a week. I wouldn't be suprised if these boobs are already getting FedEx'd letters to their homes (asking for money) and distant cousins popping out of their hedges (also asking for money).

If I ever won I'd take my time and turn into vapor once the cash was in my possession.

"And just like that-- poof, he's gone."

I bought a (only takes one) ticket for the first time in my life for this Powerball. The guy behind the counter told me the last guy to buy tickets cashed his paycheck and bought over $400 in tickets?!

Every time CNN or some other news source does a "public opinion" type thing, I'm reminded why most of the people in the world think everyone in the US is a moron.

    Reminds me of a joke:

Husband to wife: Hey honey, we won the lottery. How about you start packing.

Wife: Should I pack for beach, or for snow?

Husband: I don't care where you go, just get the f*** out of here...

He spent 99% of his lottery winnings on wine, women, and song.

The rest he just wasted away!
