sorry only ever been in an 308gts/i and thats about it and any Ferrari would be a pleasure if i owned one
Hey, don't say sorry, consider yourself lucky! 246 and 308's are the best if you like that tactile nimble feeling with carbs. If you like a dozen up the front, the 250, 275 and 330 series are great, the Daytona is just plain heavy and steers like a pig without any dynamic sophistication. If you want the best V12 classic supercar for the street, a Miura or a 275 GTB/4 is the only choice! Regards, Carl.
Oh, and lets not forget the BB, probably the compromise in terms of a rear engined 12 cylinder. Regards, Carl.
365GTC/4 the best love it must have one the ONLY real Ferrari for me, I don't care if the steering is heavy or whatever, to me this is an icon car
I remember that Barina, and if I remember rightly it's faster than all the F-cars I'm with JM (hmmm... two JMs... "J-Mo"?) on the GTC/4 though, I love them too
Golly, what a collection of cars! That 250GTE looks magnificent. The Queen Mary with Borranis is just fantastic, and is that 330GT 2+2 s/n 5991? Looks much better there than it did in the ads.
I wondered where the 330 with the 'funny' nose had gone. I knew the perv owner quite well before he passed away. Had a heart attack at the wheel of one of his Bentley Turbo Rs a few hours after he had signed over the majority of his business to his brother and was planning to retire and enjoy his car collection...
It's essentially a 330GTC nose grafted on to the 2+2, isn't it? BTW, it's always sad to hear of someone passing away soon after retirement, when by rights they should be enjoying the fruits of their labour.
DROOOOOOOOOL. Love the classic ferraris and its nice to see the 400's getting around. Is that a brown dino? 70's!!!!
Maurice (departed 330 owner) was a nice guy, if a little eclectic in his car and music tastes. He liked Studebakers and Country/Western music... Big supporter of the classic car scene in WA for many years and had about 40-50 cars inc. 3.0l Bentley, Silver Ghost, various Turbo Rs and an Azure convertible, a Continential T, Delorean etc etc. 330 was his first F car.
Hmmm, Andrew, I think the last two words of the sentence above were a tautology I mean, he did own a Ferrari right, so he must have been a perv? Regards, Carl.
Oh, and another thing about that 330, the current owner used to have a 250 SWB and a 250 GT/L. Odd, after those two, you'd buy that 330, when at the time, there were nicer ones around. Regards, Carl.
Had dinner tonight with Trev Basset and Pip ( It was Pip's 50th, can you F***** believe it!!) and Phil and Chris Moore. Said there was 11 Daytona's there! Also said someone claimed to have seen 170!! FAST OHOS!! Sounds like it was a great weekend. Actually it sounded like Rally's of old (sigh)
