Hi Bruce. Finally got a digital cam and it eats up AA's like crazy. Will lithium bats last longer? Is it worth the cost to get rechargeable AA's? Thanks, Steve
I'm not BRUCE, but I'll put in some 2 cents. I use rechargable 2500 mAh batts in mine, 1 full set, plus a spare set charged and ready to go, plus a set of lithium as back up. The rechargables have saved me a lot of money in the time that I've been using them, but then again, I take a lot of pics. I'd recommend springing the small bit extra for the 15-minute charger since 8 hour chargers are a major pain in the arse. The Energizer set I've got is decent, no complaints, plus they were inexpensive.

THE RECH BATTS (2500 MAH, NICKEL METAL HYDRIDES) WILL SAVE MONEY IN THE LONG RUN, BUT SHORT RUN, THEY WILL GIVE YOU MAYBE 50 PICTURES OR SO USE LITHIUMS, THEY ARE LIKE 400-500 PICTURES AT LEAST ASK CARBON...HE WILL TELL YA

Back when I had my Sony CyberShot, Bruce kept me outfitted in lithium AAs - I never missed a shot, because my batteries were never dead... I kept a spare with my camera case and that always ensured I'd get a picture of anything I wanted, at any moment... One afternoon, while helping a friend with a party, I took over 1,300 pictures on one set of used lithium AAs... The batteries were already in the camera and had been used and then I went and took 1,300 more pictures... Now my new camera has some weird, special battery, so lithiums are useless to me (at least for the camera; my wireless, optical mouse here at work is fitted with lithium AAs, courtesy Wellington Battery)... I strongly urge and suggest you switch to AAs - when it comes to batteries, in my opinion, they're the only way to go...

Umm, my Samsung Sportscam's lipstick cam eats through AAA. i use the Nm type. Are Lith that much better???
I have 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 year olds and every toy they have takes batteries, lots of em. I opened the kitchen drawer the other night and thought about posting a pic of our $200 worth of Energizer batteries for you. You will owe me a fishing trip before they turn 3. Truly, the bunnies seem to last the longest.

This is interesting. Just one question about lithiums.... I'm currently using a set of AA 2300mAh Ni-MH rechargeables for my flashguns, with which I believe the recycling time is faster than alkalines, but will it be faster with lithiums?
