I would imagine my first plate is potentially stronger, but it is a borderline calclulation. The std Ferrari hub centre is clearly up to the task.

Did you know there are only 9 little 6mm cap head screws holding a 550 clutch onto the flywheel, no dowels or pins or anything, just cap screws and friction doing all the work.... incredible that they can transmit the enormous torque.....

fair enough...if can cope with a 550, then this will have no probs with a 348

I had a great day today boys, fitted my new clutch, but had early dramas. My dumbass mate that gave me a hand today,(my trusty baby nephew spanner turner is on holidays with dad) jumped in the 348 palying around and he depressed the clutch pedal! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It popped off the throwout bearing and in turn broke the roll-pin in the throwout bearing, that locates in a slot above the bearing to stop the throwout bearing from moving side to side. Had to chase up a 4mm roll-pin then. :( Got one after 1 hour of f*cking around. :) Put it together, sweet as. Everything after that was a breeze to fit also. :D We bled the clutch, heaps of air in it also, but that was too easy. But...................... i started the car and let it warm up for around 20mins,while i cleaned up. I jumped in the car and COULDNT get any gears :( I was like F*******************CCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But funny thing happened,it came good. Got all gears and thought, well something musta have been a little sticky or something :) Put the exhaust on and took the big girl for a hot lap! Clutch seems cool. The pedal is not any heavier than before. So far a great feel to it and i just have to crack the throttle a little more than before to get it off the line. Awesome! Cheers ferrarifixer! I wont have to send the goons down again to kneecap ya :p! Heres some pics of the job being done and also my "Special tool" for the back locking nut. :D Im so happy!! I cant stop smiling! :)

Nice pics of the paper weights!
What do you think was preventing you selecting gears at first?

Here is a pic of the old girl parked up town :p Im so happy! Oh oh oh,i also smoked a stinking ass silver XR6 turbo ute all the way up to 170 km/h. He couldnt even keep up after the intial take off from the lights. And i took it really easy off the lights too,new clutch and all. But then nailed it and was gone! The damn fool! He will think again :D

Im not sure. I put a little antiseize on the gearbox spline to help lube it up,and although they were my old clutch plate centres, they were still a fairly snug fit over the output shaft. So maybe could have been a sticky/tight fit over the shaft at 1st,but then loosend up with a few hundred clutch pedal presses! :p
