What has money got to do with taste? Having a billion dollars or ten dollars doesn't change what looks good.
The important dimention IMO for driving these cars on the street is short front overhang. The distance from tip of lowest point of nose to center of front wheel. Shorter, easier to enter a driveway. Ride height will be determined in testing but front overhang is good, better than an Enzo.
I applaud this effort and like the idea of a re-bodied Enzo. While aesthetics are subjective; many don't care for the look. However; you've indicated several times that you are improving the driving dynamics of the car. Care to elaborate on what you felt Ferrari didn't do well? Also, I'm curious, anything that you would have liked in the car that got left on the cutting room floor?
Chimming in quite late on this, but my brain is perplexed with the design possibilities. I'm looking forward to hearing the progress and seeing the final product. Which will undoubtably be candy in the eyes of all Ferrari enthusiasts. I'm assuming since the unveiling will be in August, it's pretty top secret outside of text form. Any teaser photos along the way? Jim, this project must have you going ninety to nothing. Are you getting any sleep? LOL
Jim, I apologize if this has already been asked, but did you buy two Enzos for this project, or one? If you bought one, did you spend some time driving it in it's stock form, or did it go straight to Pininfarina? Did you form some driving impressions of the stock Enzo? Thanks so much for sharing this project with us!
Hi One. Bought it new and shipped it directly to Pininfarina. My impression of the "stock" Enzo is very well sorted/race car like/ with a LOT of power. The only thing I felt made it hard to drive on the street was the length of the front over hang which we're reducing. Sleep? Plenty of time for that someday. Best
so I turned on my TV and oh god it's halfway through the closing ceremonies, did I miss the glimpse Jim? Please tell me no, I will put myself into cryogenic sleep until august if I missed it...
I'm going with a 12 behind the seats, but NOT a limited run car. It will be a production car priced around $280K, that's my guess.
One of our newspapers showed a picture of a beautiful curved creation, but I guess I am not allowed to post such pictures in here , so I assume this is not your creation, Jim?? The article says that she was escorted out by the security people (so you now know what kind of streaking/striking picture this was)
What newspaper is that? I could tell if it´s Jim creation or not (but I won´t), but if possible, just send it to Jim and perhaps he will confirm.
Frontal nudity, even beautifully curved, is not allowed by forum rules so I guess Jim won't have to confirm if this was his creation
I ask you again: WHAT NEWSPAPER ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?!?!??!? I am on a need to know base! (now I get the ´streaking´ part and I feel dumb)
So was there a peek during the closing ceremony? If there was I missed it. Is it possible to have it posted on here as it was obviously in the public domain? Purleeeeeeeeze!!!
Guys If a teaser was shown it would have been buried in the sponsors video that I think would have only been shown locally at the ceremony not broadcast worldwide as part of the NBC feed which would have probably cut to a Mac Donald's commercial. I can confirm that she's curvey...
